Cosy, peaceful and full of character, Lavender Cottage is a lovely riverside retreat near Cartmel, perfect for relaxing breaks, you will feel instantly at home. Unwind in the kingsize bed with beautiful cotton linen, enjoy the dressing room, spacious walk-in shower and comfortable lounge. Dogs are warmly welcome too, with treats and easy access to scenic local walks right from the door. Wonderfully placed for Cartmel and the Lakes, this is the cottage you will love to return to again and again. The space Living Area As you step into this cosy former weaver's cottage, you will find yourself in the sitting room where you can truly begin to relax. Settle into the sofa with your book or a glass of wine, or curl up in the window seat and watch the river flow gently past, winding through the village of Cark-in-Cartmel. It’s a cosy, comfortable and welcoming space to unwind after a day out, whatever the season. Bedroom, Dressing Room & Shower Room Upstairs, your peaceful bedroom overlooks the River Eea and features the comfortable kingsize bed dressed with quality cotton linen for your restful night’s sleep. A separate dressing room gives you space to unpack and settle in properly, ideal for longer stays, and helping the cottage feel like your home. The modern shower room has a spacious walk-in shower, perfect after long countryside walks in the fresh air, or days exploring hidden gems. Dining Kitchen & Sun Room The well equipped kitchen makes self-catering for your holiday simple and stress-free, with everything you will need for a slow breakfast or relaxed meals together. The adjoining sun room is a bright, comfortable place, where you can enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine. Comfortably heated in the cooler months, the gentle warmth will make it just as inviting in winter. From here, you can step straight out onto the enclosed courtyard patio. Courtyard Patio Out through the door of the sun room, you’ll find an enclosed courtyard patio with outdoor dining table and seating — ideal for those relaxed meals, your morning coffee or a peaceful afternoon drink in the sun. It's a safe, relaxed space for dogs too, while the traditional outbuilding provides useful storage for bikes or outdoor gear, along with a freezer and tumble dryer to make your stay that little bit easier. The Riverside Terrace The River Eea runs along the front of the cottage, creating a wonderfully tranquil backdrop to your stay. Sit outside, listen to the gentle sound of the flowing water and enjoy watching the visiting wildlife as you slow down and take in your surroundings, enjoying the calm of the village location. Walking, Exploring & Location You can step straight from the front door of the cottage onto scenic walking and cycling routes, making this an excellent base for outdoor lovers. Cartmel is within easy 30 minute walking distance, with the coast, countryside and beautiful Lake District Bational Park all close by, making it easy to explore without needing to drive every day. There is a local shop and a pub just 2 minutes walk from the cottage, and transport links are nearby. Parking & Arrival Parking is available close by on the quiet village road opposite the cottage, making arrival and unloading straightforward. Stays start on any day of the week, enabling you to plan a relaxed arrival and make the most of your time at Lavender Cottage. Guest access The whole cottage is yours exclusively, and set in the heart of the Old village, is a friendly place to be. As part of an historic row of Mill Workers cottages, your rear courtyard is completely fenced defining your space to enjoy the sunshine and birdsong. You will also have access to the secure rear outbuilding, where you can store any extras you bring such as bikes. There are also a pair of foldable chairs for you to take on day trips out for picnics. Parking is just across the river from the cottage, it is free, and access to the cottage is straightforward for unloading your things. Other things to note You will find on arrival that I provide some basics for you - you can have brew before you have even unpacked! Lavender Cottage is self catering, you may decide to arrange a Supermarket delivery which are available from Morrisons, Asda, Sainsburys and Tescos. There is also a small convenience store in the village if you need just a few bits. The rear sunny courtyard patio is enclosed with a standard height fence of xxx, so please make sure that this is a suitable height for your dog. The relaxing bedroom is a wonderful light room with views over the River Eea, and the staircase opens up directly into the room making the room feel spacious, and light floods down the stairs to the kitchen below. You will be able to watch many of your Streaming favourites on the Smart TV so please be sure to rember your Passwords! There is no terestrial aerial fixed, however the TV has BBC, ITV Channel 4 and Channel 5 all set up with Lavender Cottage account for you to use for any Live TV or Catch up. If you sign in to your own account, please remeber to sign out! Cark in Cartmel is a small Lakeland village just two miles from Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District and features pretty streamside strolls and beautiful walks to the local coastline. There is a fine traditional old pub just 2 minutes away, and a lovely Garden Centre with a dog friendly cafe at the other end of the village. There is a take away and Fish & Chip Shop within 10 minutes walking distance, and whilst there are no restaurants directly in Cark, nearby Cartmel has a few eateries and pubs and is also home to Simon Rogans' 5 AA Rosettes, two Michelin Star L'Enclume, and one Michelin Star Rogan & Co which have made it a destination for keen foodies. Grange also offers a couple of restaurants and a Chinese and Indian takeaway. Cark is well served by the Furness Line Railway Station, just 5 minutes walk away, giviing easy access to the WestCoast Mainline.
