Stay in a renovated 60-year-old Japanese home in Niigata’s snow country, reserved for one group of up to 7 guests. NEMARU was created as a place to slow down and feel a little closer to everyday life in Japan. Read among 1,500 books, relax in a hammock, watch movies on an 80-inch screen, cook together, and enjoy the quiet rhythm of a small town. In winter, experience snowy local life; in warmer seasons, unwind on the outdoor deck. Come stay, not just visit. The space NEMARU is a private, renovated 60-year-old Japanese home. There are two bedrooms: one with two bunk beds for 4 guests, and a Japanese-style tatami room with 3 futons. Friends can enjoy the playful, hideaway-like bunk room, while sleeping on a futon over tatami offers a more traditional Japanese experience. The house also has around 1,500 books, hammocks, an approximately 80-inch screen, board games, and a kitchen, so there is plenty to enjoy even after a day of sightseeing. For the safety of small children, we recommend using the lower bunk or a futon rather than the upper bunk. Guest access During your stay, the house and guest areas, including the outdoor deck, are reserved exclusively for your group. You will not share the property with other guests, so you can relax and enjoy your time together in privacy. Other things to note Please note that the last bus from Nagaoka Station bound for Yoita departs at 7:45 PM (as of 2026). We provide bedding according to the number of guests included in your reservation. Although the property has beds and futons for up to 7 guests, please use only the bedding prepared for your booked number of guests.
