*1 Night Bookings Taken* Beech Trees is situated in the picturesque village of Duxford, just 9 miles south of the City and within walking distance of Whittlesford station where trains into Cambridge take 10mins. IWM Duxford is nearby and there are fine countryside walks and several gastro pubs, restaurants, and bistros to choose from locally. The M11 is just over a mile away and Addenbrookes, AstraZeneca, Granta Park, Babraham Institute and Wellcome Genome Campus are all a short distance by car. The space A newly built annex finished to an architectural design with a light, comfortable interior, attached to our house and with separate access and parking. Inside, reverse living offers open-plan kitchen/dining/living space to the first floor whilst a generous double bedroom featuring high ceilings is to the ground floor, along with a beautifully finished shower room. With considered interior design and a careful choice of finishes throughout, Beech Trees provides an inviting, homely, stylish and quiet space for up to 4 guests to enjoy. There is a fully equipped kitchen featuring scandi-style contemporary cabinetry, electric oven and induction hob, microwave, full height fridge-freezer and an integrated washer-dryer. A Hotel Chocolate Podster coffee machine is also provided for that all-important morning coffee! ('welcome' pods provided along with cookies) The kitchen is open-plan to the dining space and living room, where a generous sofa/chaise longue/double bed in-one can be found. This sofa converts quickly and easily into a bed, and bedding is provided including a deep luxury mattress topper. The lofty double bedroom to the ground floor features a scandi-style birch double bed with large pillow feature headboard and an Emma mattress for a good night's sleep. 100% cotton bedding and accent cushions and throws add to the feel of luxury. The shower room is a modern and fresh design featuring contemporary terrazzo style porcelain tiling, a spacious walk-in shower with rainfall shower head and a wall hung basin and concealed cistern wc. Matt black fittings complete the look. Soft 100% cotton towels are provided to wrap you up in comfort. You can use the annex as a great base to explore this famous city, or equally take a break relax and enjoy the village/s and surrounding countryside - not forgetting to sample the various fantastic pubs along the way! The start of a public footpath across fields leading to Duxford Community Orchard is on the doorstep, and attractions such as English Heritage Audley End is less than 15mins drive away, whilst National Trust Anglesey Abbey and Wimpole Hall are less than 25mins away. To top up on food for the kitchen, M&S Simply Food can be found 2.6 miles away at the BP service station where there is also a McDonald’s. Alternatively, Waitrose is only a 12min drive away in Trumpington, where a convenient Park and Ride into the city centre can also be found. Guest check-out is by 10am and check-in is from 3pm. Guest access Beech Trees is a separate self-contained annex attached to our property with its own front door (with keysafe). You have the use of the entire annex to yourselves. Our family of 2+2 and Freddie the (very friendly) Labrador live in the adjoining house, and we are on-hand should you need anything, otherwise we will leave you in peace. Off-road parking for 1 vehicle is provided however there is always space to park opposite on the road. No outdoor recreational space is provided at Beech Trees as the annex does not have access to the garden. Other things to note Location: Duxford is a picturesque village set in some of the finest South Cambridgeshire countryside, approximately 9 miles from Cambridge City Centre. There are excellent local facilities including a shop, two public houses, The Lodge Duxford with its popular restaurant and café, and the well-regarded Graystone's Deli/Bistro. There is also a new Village Community Centre and popular Café-19, a recreation ground and children’s play area, as well as a community orchard. A beauty salon and a hairdressers is also in the village.
