Updated studio apartment in a 100 year old, Craftsman style home, located in the heart of revitalized downtown Kalamazoo. This special place is close to everything. Enjoy the convenience of home, in the city. Located on the first residential block south of downtown, it's an easy walk to Bronson Park, the State Theatre, Chenery, Kalamazoo Mall and the Radisson hotel. Walk to local breweries (Bells, Brite Eyes, Brewery Outré). Short drive or walk to WMU or K-College campuses. The space We are the new owners of this charming 100 year old, multi-unit, Craftsman style home on the edge of downtown. There are three units in this home; two on the second floor and one on the first. You will have your own 1-bedroom studio apartment with a full bath and full kitchen. There is no living room, but the bedroom and kitchen space is ample and you have access to a three season porch, which is a lovely space for a cup of coffee in the morning. Shared laundry in the basement. On-site parking. Guest access In addition to your own apartment in this home, you will have access to a shared three season porch on the second floor. This is a lovely place to have a cup of coffee in the morning or to just sit and enjoy the morning sunshine. You will have access to the back staircase and back door, for easy access to the parking. The back stairs are somewhat narrow and steep and are shared by all three units. Please be considerate of other guests. Other things to note Heating/Cooling: This house does not have central air conditioning. Each unit has it's own individual cooling system including fans, and mini-splits, and window AC units. Please feel free to open windows if you are not using the air conditioning. We ask that you monitor the weather and close the windows accordingly. In the winter, this house is run off a single pipe steam boiler. Some units may run on the warmer side. Feel free to open a windows to adjust the temperature to your liking. However, please DO NOT attempt to adjust the heat, using the valves or vents on the registers themselves. This will have an adverse effect on the entire system. If you are cold, there are individual space heaters located in the closets of each unit. Kitchen essentials: Due to space, we have only essential items available in the kitchen, including pots, pans and a place setting for 2. If you needs something specific, please feel free to ask. We have items on reserve. Bathroom essentials: Please use the black wash clothes or provided makeup remover pads. Please do not use the white towels for cleaning up spills, makeup, blood, or mud. There is a set of non-white towels in the bathroom wall cabinet. We have rags in the kitchen utility closet. Also, there is drawer in the bathroom vanity that has useful items like a hair dryer and first aid kit. Bedroom: There is a duvet comforter in the black trunk at the foot of the bed. Bedroom closet: Iron, ironing board, space heaters, fans can be found in this closet. Your comfort during your stay is very important to us.
