Blackberry Blossom Farm is often referred to as " A magical place, BEST Airbnb we've ever been to!" The Nellie Belle vintage 1955 Aljoa Camper overlooking the Unaka Mts. is cute as a button! Bathroom accommodations are at our super clean Campground Bathhouse, located beside the Nellie Belle camper. Vintage decorated and impeccably clean, 1 comfortable full bed, outdoor kitchenette on covered deck, dining table with 2 benches. 100 acre farm, cool, clean air and gorgeous mountain views. The Nellie Belle is an authentic 1955 Aljoa by Sportscraft, a post WWII industry answer to gather families back together for camping trips and travel across the country. The shape was also referred to as a "canned ham" and made the best use of materials which were still scarce post-war. This 15' camper has a comfortable full size foam mattress, kitchenette with mini fridge, sink, table with booth seating. Vintage 1955 gas stove is no longer operational but cooking facilities on deck are new and improved. Stocked with quality linens, pillows & towels, tea kettle, coffee pot, toaster, utensils, dishware, wine glasses, and many extra essentials you may have forgotten. The large deck is the favorite place to be during your stay at the Nellie Belle. It has a gas grill, griddle and 2-burner cooktop, utensils and seating area for two. Overlooking the gorgeous Unaka Mountain view, enjoy coffee or tea in the morning sunrise while hearing the birds welcome the day. Evenings are a wonder with the seasonal firefly show and a herd of deer which usually come at dawn and dusk. Fire pit is located off of the deck and firewood & S'more kits are available for sale. Hammock stand and hammock available for lazy relaxing and enjoying the mountain view. Bathroom facilities are a short walk beside the camper at our beautiful Blackberry Blossom Campground bathhouse, clean, private and modern. The Camp Store porch is a favorite spot to sip your morning coffee, read a book, or make new friends. Open 24 hours a day, stocked with snacks, drinks, ice cream, ice, camp supplies & firewood, it is also a one-of-a-kind quaint shop with vintage items and unique gifts from local artisans & herbalists. WiFi is available in the Nellie Belle and at the Camp store for working or checking e-mail, social media, looking up things to do or restaurant menus. Please note that cell phone reception is usually available for Verizon cell carriers but service from other providers may not be available unless you use WiFi for calls. Blackberry Blossom has a gorgeous view of the Unaka Mts. The vintage Nellie Belle camper has the privacy you want with access to local events, festivals and Appalachian adventure. Open the door & windows and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Screens keep bugs out but allows a glorious mountain breeze. An electric fan is also included should you need a little more air movement. Outlets and USB ports are in the Nellie Belle for charging or plugging in a C-PAP machine. The electric capacity doesn't allow for heaters or other large electric pulls. We now allow well- behaved pets because we know that they are part of your family. The interior of the Nellie Belle is small but there is a deck where you can hang out with your fur friends. There is no railing or fenced in area, so never leave alone for their safety. All animals must be leashed when outside and never left alone. Limit of 2 dogs, no weight limit or breed restrictions. They must be good mannered and not excessive barkers. Please do not allow them on the fabric bench seats or the bed. Bring your own dog towels if they need wiping down after a splash in the creek or if they are muddy from a hike, please don't use the ones in the Camper. You must clean up and dispose of your dogs waste, bags provided. Firefly shows start in June, so enjoy the cool evenings as the sun sets and relax into the peaceful mountain pace. Close by are waterfalls and the Appalachian Trail. We are a perfect choice for couples who need a peaceful respite, business travelers, overflow for family gatherings and mountain vacationers. Even if you are just passing through on your way to someplace else, give yourself a rest at Blackberry Blossom to recharge for the rest of your travels. Many passing-through guests come back to make this their main destination for future visits. We're special, and once you visit, you'll see why! Guests have access to the garden trail, pergola, grape arbor sitting area, easy woodland trails, fire pit for cooking s'mores or enjoying a crackling fire. Firewood for sale on camp store porch. On the walking trails you may see medicinal plants, rare wild flowers, wildlife and a historic Appalachian grave site with a story. We also have a resource library on local flora & fauna and maps of property hiking trails. The property has an interesting history. Come share this local treasure & you'll see why so many return again and again. We allow our guests to decide how much interaction they prefer. We respect your privacy but are available if you wish. We're always here for safety issues, emergencies & answering questions. We rarely meet our guests when arriving as we leave the camper unlocked and ready for you. We'll probably see you sometime during your stay as we go about the daily chores of cleaning the bathhouse and running the campground. Please give us an estimated arrival time as you get closer on your travel day so we can keep an eye out for you in case you need anything as you arrive. There is a key in the bowl on the table if you want to lock the camper up while leaving for a day outing. Please make sure you leave the Nellie Belle unlocked when you leave and put the key & lock back on the table. Blackberry Blossom Inn, Farm & Campground is 100 acres, nestled into the mountains of the Limestone Cove community and backs up to the Cherokee National Forest. The property is mostly forested and is safe, private and peaceful. There are several creeks, hiking trails and a fishing pond on the property . Our neighbors are wonderful friendly folks who wave to all as you pass them on the narrow winding road to the farm. Go slow, you never know what is lazing in the sun as you make your way into the cove. We frequently encounter turkey, chickens, ducks, peacocks, dogs, deer and an occasional cow who has nudged under the fence. The roads to Blackberry Blossom are paved but our driveway is gravel, not steep and all kinds of cars and motorcycles have no problem getting here. Car rentals are available at Tri-Cities airport, 45 min. away. The Appalachian Trail, Iron Gap, is 6 miles. White water rafting on the Nolichucky in Erwin, Roan Mt. State Park, & Johnson City (ETSU and Milligan College) are all 20 min. Asheville, Jonesborough, Bristol Motor Speedway & Wolf Laurel Ski are 40 min. Ski slopes at Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain are 50 min. Boone & Blowing Rock are approx. 60 min. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville, or Asheville, NC is 50 min. Day trips to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are a 2 hour drive. Don't miss Cherokee, NC, on the other side of The Great Smokies, a wonderful Native American museum, seasonal outdoor drama and Native Village reenacting this great tribe's history. We highly recommend online local blog Appalchiantreks written by Mark Peacock for excellent information on the surrounding area. Check it out before you come so you can plan your trip to this gorgeous part of the world. We're laid back but pay extra attention to details. Please feel free to note any additional needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.
