A king-size bed, Amazon Prime and, an incredibly comfortable sofa (with extra throws for snuggling), allow you to incorporate the perfect duvet day into your stay. The modern kitchen, that even boast’s a kettle tap for instant hot beverages, is perfectly equipped for those romantic homemade meals. Once the food is prepared, choose gazing through a window that frames the picturesque landscape or, alfresco dining on your very own private terrace. The cottage has ample storage for clothes, shoes and suitcases, if anything needs a clean there is a washer dryer on standby. The large coffee bar accompanied by the excellent Wi-Fi provides a great workspace! Guest access Check-in is any time after 4 pm. There is ample onsite private parking, with lighting sensors for nighttime arrivals. Getting around It’s an easy drive via A34 to Oxford or Newbury and a short distance to M4 for access towards London and the West. Local rail stations include Didcot, Newbury, Goring and Streatley with direct services to London, Oxford, Bristol Reading & more. We are also well located for Heathrow, Bristol, Southampton and Bournemouth airports. Other things to note Where you’ll be: Our gorgeous creatively designed cottage will place you directly on the historic Ridgeway, reputedly Britain’s oldest ‘road’. Here you can bask in the freedom of wide open spaces on the Berkshire/Oxfordshire border. Just a short walk and you will be in the traditional English village of East Ilsley with a choice of great pubs (both serving food), friendly locals and a village duck pond! Various paths and ancient trails throughout this historic and open landscape can take you to ancient battle sites, Iron Age forts or up to the Ridgeway “gallops”. Rise early and you may catch several Group 1 winning trainers and jockeys exercising the racehorses on The Downs. Local attractions nearby include all the historic delights of Oxford plus, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), Blenheim Palace, Basildon House, Newbury, Windsor, Ascot Racecourses, Shaw House, Welford Park (famous home of The Great British Bakeoff) and the White Horse at Uffington.
