Description

Calm and luminous pied-à-terre 1-bdrm nestled on the top floor of an 1848 building in the central 3e. Low-traffic one-way street, Arts et Métier district, Haut Marais adjacent. Highly private and quiet, with a dedicated staircase, it is the only apartment on the 6th and last floor of the building. *Please note no elevator (125 steps). Open kitchen-dining-living area. Bathroom, set apart on its own separate floor, has a walk-in shower. Wonderfully breezy and airy. 48 m²/515 sqft. The space The apartment is situated centrally in the highly convenient 3rd arrondissement, at the crossroads of 4 culturally dense arrondissements–the 2nd, 3rd, 10th, and 11th and is perfect for those who want to explore by foot. The building is on a one-way quiet low-traffic street that runs between two major landmarks, the beautiful triumphal arch of Porte St. Martin and the Place de la République, considered by many to be the beating heart of the city. The coffee-pastry-sandwich shop Bo and Mie is just a 2-minute walk, at the end of the street. The area around République covers the spectrum of “hipsterishness,” from the high fashion artiness of the Marais to the bohemian quirkiness of the banks of the Canal Saint Martin. There is a historic pass-through staircase from the street on which the apartment is located to Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth and the surrounding cobblestone streets below, which are packed with artisanal coffee shops, wine bars, cozy restaurants, and vintage and boutique shopping. I am happy to provide an area guide with neighborhood highlights! The historic Chateau d'Eau neighborhood, a 6-minute walk, is the perfect place for daily shopping needs: épicerie (grocery), fromagerie (cheese), boulangerie (bread), cave (wine), and patisserie (pastries). 3-minute walk to: 4-8-9 metro line at Strasbourg St. Denis 6-minute walk to 3 metro line at Temple 7-minute walk to Republique: 5 11 metro lines 3 metro stops from Strasburg St. Denis to Gare du Nord for Eurostar to London, RER B to Charles de Gaulle airport and Orly 12-minute walk to Canal St. Martin 14-minute walk to Pompidou Center 17-minute walk to Les Halles (which includes a 27-screen cinema complex) 23-minute walk to Palais Royal 23-minute walk to Hôtel de Ville 24-minute walk to Place des Vosges 24-minute walk to Louvre Guest access The apartment is secluded, the only apartment on the 6th and last floor of the building. There is no overhead foot traffic or shared walls with neighbors. A cozy cocoon with many windows, the apartment has the feel of a private suite on a ship, drifting atop the Paris skyline. I live on the fifth floor below, and can assist with anything you need. When I am out of town, Lucie, my co-host/personal concierge is nearby to provide support. Other things to note Our favorite thing about the apartment is the view from the bathroom of the Eiffel Tower and Paris sunsets. The street the apartment is located on is in the heart of Paris, with easy access to all the best Paris has to offer, but is not a tourist thoroughfare; it is a residential street with a mixture of wholesale fashion businesses and art galleries.
