——5 seconds to the crystal clear sea—— Oriya is located in a small fishing town of Mie. You can be away from the tourists and enjoy an authentic Japanese town. Oriya is a private lodge that is limited to one group per day. Outside the window, beautiful and calm sea and lush mountain scenery spreads out. Not only the scenery, but also the town itself is charming. Also it’s close to world heritage of “Kumanokodo”. It is possible to come to this place by public transportation. The space The house has been renovated, but some parts remain rustic. Please enjoy a real Japanese house! - Guest room (6 tatami mats + 4.5 tatami mats) 5 sets of futon bedding are provided. The floor is made of 4.5cm thick solid cedar with additive-free bee wax. In the season when barefoot is comfortable, please lie down on the floor. It’s so relaxing. The 4.5 tatami mats are laid out with futon bedding, and mattresses are available for 3 or more people. - Shared space (6 tatami mats + 3 tatami mats) This room has a dining table and can be used freely. - Toilets and bathrooms There is a western style toilet and a bathtub in the shower room. For the wood-fired boiler system, we kindly ask guests to take their bath in the evening. If you would like to take a shower in the morning, please let us know. Please note that we are unable to refill the bathtub with new hot water. - Terrace There is a table set with a parasol on the terrace. There is also an external power supply, so please feel free to use it. - Laundry Washing machine and dryer are available. (200 yen each/incl. detergent). You can also dry your clothes naturally on the terrace. ●Meals● There are no restaurants nearby. We will prepare meals upon request. Due to the preparations, please book 3 days in advance. (Additional fee required). ●Activities● Mikiura is a popular spot for fishing, diving and hiking. The owner will guide you on hikes with spectacular views, a boat will pick you up in front of the inn for raft fishing… We also offer many experiences to explore Mikiura, so please feel free to ask us about them. ●Others● -- The guesthouse uses an environmentally friendly wood-fired boiler. Please note that wood must be burned in advance to supply hot water. Basically, the owner prepares the boiler both in the morning and before taking a bath, but if you would like to do it by yourself, we will give you a lecture beforehand, so please ask us. -- The common space and terrace are sometimes open as a cafe. (Don't worry, it is completely reserved for overnight stays.) Please take good care of the equipment, etc. Guest access We only take one reservation at a same time so when you stay at Oriya is yours to use privately. (Kitchen is partially restricted due to cafe space facility.) Other things to note ※Please be sure to read the following 1) There are no restaurants or convenience stores in Mikiura. We do not recommend staying in Mikiura unless you enjoy living in the middle of nowhere. 2) Guesthouse is a typical old Japanese style house. Please understand the house is not like Hotel or Ryokan. 3) For safety reasons, please refrain from using the wood boiler without permission from the owner. 4) Our guesthouse is located in an area rich in nature, means there are insects, wild animals arounds the house. We do not recommend staying at the inn for those who do not like insects. 5) Please do not take any of the furnishings home with you. 6)Please note that we are not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur during your stay.
