Description

A lovely self contained barn in a shared courtyard beside a beautiful mountain river. Otter Barn, possibly once a ford keeper’s cottage, has been newly renovated into light, warm, south facing, cosy, self-contained accommodation for two. This peaceful little barn is a gem in all seasons; as a base for exploring the delights of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and the Towy Valley; an activity holiday of cycling, walking, swimming; a place to destress and reconnect to a slower pace of life. The space Otter Barn is in a shared courtyard accessed by a short drive leading from the mountain road. There is space to park beside the barn and movement sensor lighting creates visibility if arriving after dark. Sarah or Nick will be there to greet guests on their arrival, show them the property and answer any questions. Otter barn is for the sole use of guests who are staying there. The barn has an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room that looks out over the garden and hills beyond. The bedroom and bathroom are off the sitting room. There is underfloor heating throughout and a woodburner to top up the warmth if required. Although small the barn has a feeling of spaciousness due to the clarity of its design, the light streaming in and the high oak beamed ceilings. Guest access Guests have their own patio and area of the garden to sit. The hosts will show guests what parts of the land they can have access to such as walking through the meadows and down to the river in places along the land. It’s possible to walk from the barn up into the forest where you can walk for miles. Other things to note Sarah and Nick grow much of their own food and when there is surplus different salad and vegetables maybe available to purchase as well as their own apple juice. There are two pet dogs living with the hosts. Both are lurchers and very friendly. The dogs have free access to the contained part of the garden which is fenced off from the barn patio. They will love to say hello through the fence but can be kept well away from visitors when required.
