Our beautiful nature retreat with AC is located in a quiet forested neighborhood beside regional parks and trails with quick access to Vancouver’s best attractions. Uniquely & functionally designed from the ground up in 2023 with a completely flat entry with no stairs throughout the unit. We are close to everything: 5 mins to shops / dining 10 mins to the PNE Amphitheatre for FIFA 25 mins to Stanley Park / Downtown 30 - 45 min from the Vancouver Airport This is a non-smoking property. The space Additional Unique Features Include: Ultimate comfort with a Mini-Split Heat Pump system providing AC in summer and heat in winter. The indoor temperature can be individually adjusted in every room. Super high speed internet with ethernet connection. Full kitchen with cooking utensils, oil & spices included. Extra blankets and pillows for guest comfort. Level 2 electric car charging can be provided with advanced notice. The guest suite faces an expansive backyard full of wild life such as birds, squirrels and raccoons. The area is also home to bears and coyotes, although they often shy away from people. The backyard is shared with us and you may see us hanging out on our deck and tending to our property. Guests have their own patio area as well as the use of the shared backyard. Your hosts live on the same property upstairs in a wood frame house. Therefore, some unavoidable noise transfer from footsteps, doors closing, and water use may be heard during your stay. A cute mini sound machine is included in each bedroom for sensitive sleepers who would like to fall asleep to nature sounds. The entertainment system is also unique. Guests will have access to theatre style set up with a projector and sound system with free Netflix. You can also cast your favourite shows onto the projector from your own device. Please note we do not offer cable TV. Guest access The guest suite is located at the back of the property accessed through a beautiful, flat board walk by the free, flat dedicated guest parking spot with a step-free entrance into the unit. There are also no stairs anywhere inside the guest suite, you won't have to carry your luggage up or down any stairs, just wheel right in! Other things to note Garbage Sorting in Wild Life Habitat: Our house is located in nature and therefore, we share the natural habitat with many wild animals. To avoid local bears and raccoons damaging the fencing, garbage cans, and being habituated to human food, we ask that guest use compost bags (provided for short stays) for food waste and freeze all food waste until the day of garbage collection. Extra bags will also be provided to freeze any strong smelling food packaging (such as meat trays). There is a small freezer provided in the utility closet for this purpose. Garbage & Recycling: Garbage and recycling bins (for mixed paper and containers) are located in the cupboard below the sink. Please wash all containers before putting them in the recycling bin to avoid attracting insects and wild animals. Quiet Time: Our house is located in a super quiet family friendly neighborhood with young children, please respect the following quiet times: Outdoor: 9 pm to 8 am. Indoor: 11 pm to 8 am. Please note, only registered guests can use the Maple Garden Suite and backyard areas unless with permission from the hosts. There are no parties allowed as per Airbnb rules. This means no additional guests, playing music and talking loudly outside after 9 pm. A $500 fee will be applied for any evidence of a party, unauthorized guests, or related damages. Washer and Dryer: Please feel free to ask for help if you require assistance with any appliances inside the unit. For example, the lint catcher should be cleaned before and after every dryer use. Cleaning Supplies: Cleaning supplies are placed in the utility closet beside the dining table in the living room. You will find everything you need to spot clean anything you wish to make your stay comfortable. Please do not take the cleaning supplies away from the suite as we use those supplies too to keep the Maple Garden Suite clean. Hot Water Tank: Hot water is supplied with a hot water tank in the Utility closet. While there is usually enough hot water for regular use, it is advisable for guests not to take long showers or take too many showers all at the same time. You may choose to run the dishwasher and shower at different times of the day. Pets: No pets allowed as our resident senior cats may get anxious with other animals on the property. Any pets brought on the property may incur a fine of $500 / CAD / violation. No Smoking / Vaping / Drugs: Strict no smoking / vaping / marijuana / illicit drugs anywhere inside or outside the property. Violators of this policy will be charged $1000 / violation. There is parkland in front of and behind the property and no smoking shall be allow in the parks as well especially during the dry summer / fall season. Backyard & Trampoline: The backyard is shared between guests and our family. The yard can be a bit muddy with consecutive days / weeks of rain, but the ground should be dry during the spring and summer months with consecutive days of dry weather. You are welcome to use the backyard for games, picnics, and hangouts. There is a ground level trampoline in the backyard shared with the teenage occupants of the house. All trampoline users below the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult or a babysitter at least 13 years old or older. If you choose to use the trampoline, please be aware that this is at your own risk and we are not responsible or liable for any injuries. Please note the trampoline does not have side nets installed as the trampoline is on the ground and surrounding areas are pretty soft to land on. Please supervise your children for their safety. The trampoline should be limited to one person at a time. Maximum weight allowance on trampoline is 200 lbs. Any damage resulting in the improper use of the trampoline (e.g. multiple people jumping on the trampoline at the same time) can result in a $500 fine.
