Trout Creek Treehouse

Come enjoy a truly special home, bordered by a peaceful babbling creek and hundreds of acres of game-land, while located within the friendly Locust Lake Village neighborhood of 3 lakes (and playgrounds) for swimming, fishing, and more. Hike the short gameland trail that begins two houses down, eat lunch in streamside adirondack chairs, or get cozy by the firepit. Let the kids play in the custom treehouse, while you relax in swing chairs on the deck overlooking the quietude of pines and elms. The space Welcome! The main floor has an open plan with a connected living room (with TV and wood burning fireplace), dining room, and kitchen. Also on the main floor is the washer/dryer, a full bathroom, the master bedroom, and a back deck with swing chairs, rocking chairs, grill, and dining table. Downstairs is a game room with wide sofa (for sleeping if needed), TV, kids toys, darts, and foosball. Upstairs is a loft with a futon, stereo, books and work space; a bedroom with queen bed; a bedroom with a bunk bed and a single bed; and a full bath. To Note: Both the master bedroom on the main floor and the upstairs bedroom with the queen bed have air conditioning. The rest of the house does not because we find we don’t really need it. There is an overhead fan in the main room. Guest access You will have access to the whole house, property, and neighborhood. Only a garage and storage area are private. We will provide you with an access number prior to your arrival; a map of Locust Lake Village, the community where the house is located; and some tips on driving directions. Other things to note TO NOTE: The Locust Lake Village Property Owners Association charges a one-time $35 fee for each rental booking to cover use of community amenities such as the lakes, pickleball courts, etc. (We have included this as the “additional guest fee” within the price breakdown.) Registration with the Association is required anytime between time of booking and 72 hours prior to check-in. Registration can be done via the Association's website. The link will be provided, along with additional information, once you have booked. A confirmation will be emailed to you after registration. PETS: A maximum of two well behaved dogs are allowed for a flat fee of $50. We love dogs and simply ask dog owners to show respect to the house, property, and neighborhood. Do not allow them on the sofa. They may get on the beds if you have brought a waterproof pet blanket/covering. Keep them on leash when off the property . (Note: the property is not fenced and you never know when a deer or wild turkey may show up!) We have our own three dogs, so despite thorough cleaning, this not a good rental for anyone allergic to dogs. In fact, we DO NOT allow cats due to a severe owner allergy and asthma. THINGS TO DO: We love to hike, bike, and adventure so we can suggest a variety of hiking trails, places to visit, etc! We love this spot for its peace and tranquility, but with plenty of opportunities for an exciting day of rafting, skiing, or exploring just outside the door. WILDLIFE: One of the joys of this location is wildlife spotting. Deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, chipmunks, squirrels, newts, and a variety of birds are common. Please note that bear, while certainly not a common sighting, especially during the day, are in the area (we have seen them in the backyard and in the street in front of the house over the years). KINDNESS: This is not an investment or income property for us. It’s an inherited, well-loved home we want to keep in the family. We’ve spent countless hours creating a relaxing, enjoyable vacation experience where even unexpected needs are anticipated.
