PETS IN THE COTTAGE: Well behaved animal and human-friendly dogs are welcome to stay at the cottage, but you must add them to your reservation and agree that they will remain leashed at all times on the farm. There are so many free-range animals and we want to minimize conflict and stress for everybody. Your dog should also be comfortable with other dogs because our two farm dogs roam freely and are exuberant greeters. FARM SHOP: Using primarily organic produce and ingredients, our products combine inventive recipes with skill-full and passionate cooking. The shop carries a collection of lovingly crafted meals often veggie or vegan, take home delights such as our homemade pizzas and pies as well as a selection of our homemade soups and dips. We try to support a variety of eating choices and challenges so have items that work for gluten or dairy free preferences. The shop not only creates delicious healthy food but also is a mecca for unusual health products and medicinal herbs, rejuvenating elixirs and tonics. THINGS TO DO/ ACTIVITY ADD ONS: Ask us about group and private YOGA, as well as about GYROTONICS sessions offered by farm owners, Jules and Cornelius. We also have connections to local MASSAGE therapists who offer massage in house, as well as SPA treatments like facials using natural ingredients. We can also connect you with other offerings (sometimes with discounts) on the island through partner businesses—e.g., KAYAK and BIKE rentals, forest SAUNA sessions, chartered BOAT and FISHING, and so much more! Guest access Your host will greet you and orient you to the farm and its many amenities. You will get instructions after your booking has been confirmed, but please try to plan to get to the farm for check in by 5pm at the latest. If you need to arrive later, do let us know at the time of booking so we can confirm that somebody is available to check you in at a later time. Other things to note > Wifi is spotty in the Cottage. If you need a solid connection, it's best to access it from the farm shop or main farmhouse/lodge. Please ask us about working in the lodge if you need to. > Some cell service providers offer poor reception in our area of the island, or the connection can be weak or intermittent. Reception is usually good at the farm house and by the farm shop. > Please note Alderwood Farm is adult only accommodation—guests must be 12+ years old. > There are two farm dogs on the property who like to greet guests loudly with barks. They will run up to greet you, but they are not aggressive—only exuberant greeters. You should feel comfortable with dogs as you may see them during your stay. > Please don't feed any of the farm animals. > We are on a septic system and so it's important that you not put anything but human waste and toilet paper down the drains! > We have a Farm Shop on-site where you can get snacks and meals to enjoy in your room or on the patio. You can also pre-order picnic baskets for days out on the beaches or trails. Registration Details Municipal registration number: 00000511 Provincial registration number: H033202793
