Tucked away on the slopes of the Sugarloaf mountain in Abergavenny, The Barn is a self contained bedroom with a private bathroom across the courtyard. This is the ideal base for cycling and walking in the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog or just relax and enjoy the view at this unforgettable escape with a bottle of something chilled from the local vineyard. Perfectly located above Abergavenny, famous for its annual food festival, The Barn is just four miles from Crickhowell The space The Barn is part of an eighteenth century small holding. Sheltered in the lee of the mountain, the property faces south and visitors can expect spectacular views and clear night skies. Your room has a large double bed and a smaller double bed settee. Guests have sole use of their own private bathroom just across the courtyard (30 metres). Tea and coffee, crockery, a kettle, a toaster and a small fridge are provided in your room and you are also welcome to use the farmhouse kitchen if additional facilities are needed. We are located in eight acres of mountainside and visitors who are staying for the walking are encouraged to explore our grounds. Guest access The Barn is a detached building, guests have their own entrance and are provided with keys on arrival. A lockable workshop adjoining The Barn is available for guests to store bikes and equipment. Other things to note Hosts speak good German, reasonable French and a little Welsh. We are located up a steep lane and hidden away at the end of a narrow drive. This is perfect for cars and small camper vans but the lane is not accessible for larger vehicles. Our rural setting is idyllic but this can mean that although we do have wifi it can be slow and not 100% reliable.
