Nestled in the picturesque Mourne Mountains, our charming and modern home offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Perfect for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone looking to unwind, our home is the ideal base for exploring the Mourne mountains. Your bedroom is a restful retreat with a plush king-sized bed. The private shower room is modern with a walk-in shower, fresh towels, and toiletries. Great Base for the Royal County Down Golf Club & Mourne Mountains. The space Your area * Private bedroom with King Bed, electric heated blankets (in winter), wardrobe, desk etc. * Attached private showerroom with modern Hansgrohe power shower. The bedroom is situated downstairs close to the front door and the kitchen/living area. Our bedroom is upstairs. There is a gym/yoga room upstairs which you can use with a Peloton bike, free weights and TV for classes. We have an electric car charger - (available at cost - 35p per kWh ) Guest access Lots of room out front of the house to park your car - you will need one as there is no good public transport in the Mourne area During your stay It's just my wife (An American), myself (An Irishman) and our 10 year old dog (A small and overly friendly mongrel). We both work from home so will be around if you have any questions Other things to note A great base for visitors to Royal County Down Golf Club, as well as exploring the Mourne mountains. Our house is within a 2-minute drive of a nearby Aughrim Hill Woodland Trust walk with spectacular views of the Mournes. Also a 5-minute drive from Mourne Park, a beautiful woodland trust park. Rostrevor is a 15-minute drive away, where you can explore the beautiful walks in Kilbroney Park and visit the CS Lewis Narnia Trail. Just 10 minutes is Carlingford Lough Ferry - Sailing between Greencastle at the foot of the Mournes and Greenore beneath the Cooley Mountains, the Carlingford Lough Ferry makes the journey part of your fun and is Ireland’s newest must-do visitor attraction. Travelling the 1 mile by Ferry, saves you over 30 miles and over an hour on the road and you will be spoilt for choice of places to visit, either side of the Lough and beyond. We are an ideal location for local festivals such as the Fiddlers Green, Blues on the Bay, Kilbroney Vintage Show (Europe’s Largest Classic Vehicle Show), Maiden of the Mournes International Festival and the Mournes International Walking Festival. Nearby Towns & Villages * Rostrevor - Lovely village - 15 mins Drive * Kilkeel - Local town with Grocery stores etc - 5 min Drive * Newcastle - Nice seaside town - 20 mins Drive * Belfast - 1 Hour Drive * Dublin - 2 Hour Drive Lots of walks & hikes nearby * Aughrim Hill (Woodland Trust) - 3 mins Drive * Mourne Park (Woodland Trust) - 5 Mins Drive * Mourne Mountains - 10-30 mins away depending on which of the mountains your choose.
