The Log Cabin

Based on a working racehorse training yard set in 9 acres of private land, you will find our cosy Log Cabin with amazing views and beautiful sunsets. You will be able to enjoy the unique experience of watching horses out working on the gallops and grazing in the paddocks. With East Devon's popular seaside town of Sidmouth within easy reach and many footpaths on your doorstep. We look forward to welcoming you here! The space The cabin is quirky it has previously been used as a stable staff accommodation and after a bit of a makeover we would like to welcome guests to this beautiful part of the world. The location is ideal situated for exploring East Devon. Just a 5 minute drive into Ottery St Mary, with local shops and Supermarket and if your looking for the beach, its 8 miles from the popular seaside town of Sidmouth and many other popular beaches a few miles beyond. Guests should be aware that the space is simple and practical with a cosy log burner, comfy sofas and a well equipped kitchen. If you are looking for somewhere immaculate and without flaw, this house is not for you. Guest access PLEASE NOTE Guests are not permitted in the stable yard or on the sand gallops unless invited. Please be aware that many of the horses are young and may bite. Broodmares with foals can be particularly protective and may also bite. This is a working training yard. For your safety and to protect our staff while they carry out their duties, access to certain areas is restricted. These areas can be dangerous for both visitors and staff. You are very welcome to walk around the grounds on the grassy areas. Please note that the main house garden is private. Other things to note Please note that the Cabin is based on a working training yard. There will be noise, staff, horses and farm equipment and feral kids, dogs and a muck heap! We also live here, our farm house is across the drive from the cabin. The cabin is quite old and a bit rough around the edges. We have tried to reflect this in the price and be honest about what the cabin offers but we do not want to mislead guests, please don't book if you are expecting perfection.
