The space A COSY DWELLING AT VILLA “IL PONDO” Villa “Il Pondo” is an ancient contry mansion of the 18th century located in the countryside of San Giuliano Terme (Pisa), a little town well known for its thermal baths. It is a three storeys building with a distinctive clock on the roof and a wonderful sight over the Monti Pisani and the charterhouse of Calci. It has two wide green spaces at the northern and southern sides of the premises. The location is ideal for visiting the most beautiful towns of Tuscany, as well as for reaching some of the sea-resorts of the tyrrhenian coast. It is 8 km far from Pisa (10 minutes by car but also by bus), 22 km from Lucca (30 minutes by car), 93 km from Florence (1 ½ hours by car), and so on for Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra .. Easily within reach also the sandy beaches of Tirrenia and Viareggio, and the rocky coast of Castiglioncello and Calafuria. The airport and the railway station of Pisa, and the Hospital of Cisanello are as well easy to get to in a few minutes. The country-side surrounding the villa is green, quiet, close to the river Arno, ideal for walks or rides on bycycle; four free cycles are available for our guests. Within a few hundred meters you may find a small food-shop, an ice-cream shop, a confectionery and tea-room shop and a tennis-club with three playgrounds. Dwelling at Villa Il Pondo will make you enjoy a very cosy and relaxing vacation in Tuscany. At the ground floor of the villa a flat of 104 square meters has been lately restored and is now ready for our guests. It shows four large and well-lighted rooms, a bathroom, a smaller service bathroom, an outer verandah and a private parking place. In particular, you’ll find: - a sitting-room with a couch, two leather armchairs, a TV, a book-shelf and an ancient chest of drawers with an oil canvas above it; - a dining-room with an oval glass table in the middle surrounded by six small armchairs, a marble fireplace with an ancient oil canvas above and a kitchen fully furnished occupying one of the side walls; - a bed room with a double bed and a provencal wardrobe; - a bed room with two single beds and a large modern wardrobe; if necessary, a put-me-up chair is also available for a 5th guest; - an outer verandah facing the south garden with a wooden table and eight wooden chairs, perfect for dining outside during the lovely summer days.
