Our space is a self contained studio with a bed, sofa, workspace and air con, light and airy it is the ideal base to explore the Stroud Valleys. N.B. THERE IS BUILDING WORK ON OUR HOUSE, THE ANNEXE IS A SEPARATE BUILDING BUT CLOSE TO OUR HOUSE. WORK WILL BE MON-FRI ONLY, BUT THERE WILL BE BUILDING MATERIALS AND MESS IN THE GARDEN. The interior of the annexe will be unaffected, but we have reduced the price to reflect the substandard exterior. Please only book if you understand this. The space It is a studio meaning everything (except the shower room!) is all in one space. The bifold doors provide a great view down the Painswick valley and the triple glazed Velux dormers ensure it feels bright and spacious. The studio is furnished to a high specification, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay. We provide cotton bedding, a down duvet, towels, air conditioning and Philips Hue lighting. There is high speed Wi-Fi, use of an Alexa and access to Prime/Netflix on the TV, which can be adjusted to be watched from either the bed or the sofa. The small kitchenette is equipped for guests to make breakfasts, light meals or enjoy a takeaway at the breakfast bar. We provide a microwave so you can prepare ready meals or warm drinks. There is a fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and basic utensils. There is a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair and you are free to connect to the large screen monitor and wireless headset. You can relax and enjoy the view from the sofa with a glass of wine and if you are lucky with the weather open the bi-folds and enjoy the fresh air. We provide a travel cot if required, but please bring your own sheets and additional mattress if you don't want to use the basic one provided on a travel cot. Please let us know if you need the cot and we will get it setup for you. There is space for a mattress on the floor which is set up when booking for three people. Please be aware if booking for 3 people the breakfast bar and sofa only seat 2, however the outdoor patio table seats 4. Children are welcome to play in our garden on the trampoline, monkey bars or play football. There is ample parking, we can easily accommodate two large cars (N.B. the lane to our house is narrow for about 200 metres, if you are not comfortable with the width of your car you may prefer to park on the Main Road, about 200 metres away and walk down). Outside you are free to use our garden, but please note this is a shared space so you may bump into us from time to time! We can offer somewhere to store bikes if you are visiting the area to take advantage of the great bike riding routes in the area. There are numerous walks from the doorstep, including a short walk to join the Cotswold Way and National Trust Woodland. There is a popular pub in the village and a community shop and café. Stroud is popular for its Farmers Market on a Saturday morning and has many great eateries and a bohemian vibe. You can walk into Stroud in about 40 minutes or catch the bus from the end of the road and be there in 10! For those attending events or courses at Hawkwood College you can walk across the fields in about 40 minutes or drive in 10. Guest access You will have exclusive use of our annexe but the access to the annexe is a shared path to our house. The outside space is shared, but we tend to be busy at weekends with kids clubs so we aren't usually around too much. Please note the annexe is close to our house, in our front garden, but we do have some screening to help separate the two. The driveway is shared by us, but there is plenty of space for up to 5 cars and we only have one. Other things to note The annexe is in the garden of our property, we do have some screening to help provide privacy whilst in the annexe, but the outside space is shared so you may bump into us. To access the annexe you will feel like you are walking into our garden, so please ensure you are comfortable with this arrangement. The annexe has a basic kitchenette, designed to allow guests to enjoy a takeaway, prepare breakfast and light lunches. There is a microwave if you need it. You will find plates, utensils, various glasses and a chopping board. There is a small fridge freezer and plenty of space to store food. A short walk away you will find Whiteshill Community Shop which sells local produce at reasonable prices and also has a cafe serving very reasonably priced breakfast and lunch (bacon sandwiches for less than £3!) There is no wardrobe, however we have provided hooks on the walls and hangers should you need to hang anything up. There are also two cupboards which can be used for clothes storage/suitcases and holdalls.
