The space The home has undergone 15 months of renovations and was completed for our first guests to enjoy in early July 2024 :) Our home sits on 40+ acres of lush forestry in the middle of Bear Creek Lake State Park, and Willis River. The property has private river access with swimming/fishing holes, and space to kayak, trail ride, or camp primitively for those feeling up to the adventure. Sleep up to 11 guests comfortably in this 3/3 luxury home with cozy bedding and plush mattresses. Enjoy a picturesque view of the rolling hills and tranquil nature while sipping your morning coffee or a glass of wine on one of 4 outdoor spaces. Relax in the custom steam shower after a long day of hiking, kayaking, hunting or fishing. With two separate living areas, the kids will have their own space to enjoy games and watch TV. Each bedroom can sleep up to 2-3 guests, and every bathroom is within easy access from the bedrooms. Need to work while on vacation? We will have a designated workspace in the sitting area, which overlooks the downstairs common areas. With Starlink WiFi available, our guests will have reliable internet connection, even out here in the country. Hosting or attending a wedding? This home is the perfect place for families to gather and celebrate the occasion! Within 5-10 minutes of nearby wedding venues, you can’t beat the convenience our location provides. Nearby points of interest include downtown Cumberland (5m), Bear Creek State Park (5m), State Forest (5m), Charlottesville (30m), Richmond (1h), or Farmville (20m). Bring your fishing poles, kayaks, firewood, & hiking boots, and come prepared for an unforgettable experience at our rustic luxury barndominium! Guest access Guests will have access to the entire 2400 sq ft home for the duration of the confirmed reservation. Guests will have freedom to hike & explore the 50 acres of property, to include river frontage. Other things to note The home was recently converted from a tiny little cabin into the luxurious home you will soon see before you. For over 2 years, this home underwent massive rehabilitation, to include raising the trusses of the roof, creating a 3rd bedroom and 2 additional bathrooms, building the back deck from the ground up, stamping the custom concrete front porch, carefully placing 800lb oak beams throughout the interior and exterior spaces, and designing the barn doors from scratch. Every detail of the home has been carefully thought out, planned, and eventually executed. We are excited to share this work of love with our future guests! New policy regarding parties/events beginning fall of 2024: Small events of 35 guests or less may be considered with a $500 event fee and $500 refundable damage deposit. Events may not exceed a 5-hour time limit, and no more than 11 guests are permitted to sleep in the home with the provided accommodations. Guests wishing to utilize our home for parties/events must sign a contract declaring the type of event being held, the equipment being brought in, event hours, guest count, and agreement to clean up event-related messes and remove event-related trash from the property. Guests who use our home for parties/events may request that we provide a cleanup crew for an extra $400. Please note, this cleanup fee is in addition to the regular turnover fee for our nightly reservations.
