Ty Madog is just 'off the beaten track' and surrounded by beautiful countryside. You will be a few minutes walk from the stunning Padarn Lake and a lakeside walk or cycle from bustling Llanberis and the heart of Snowdonia. There is private parking and a garden area for guests as well as locked storage for bikes. This is the perfect base for your Eryri / Snowdonia adventures. We provide a simple DIY continental breakfast. The space Elidir (named after the mountain you can see from the cottage) is a light, airy bedroom with a double bed and ample storage. It is one of 3 rooms (2 doubles and a bunk room) in the guest area. You will share the bathroom, dining room, lounge, full kitchen, toilet, garden, and parking with other guests. Ty Madog is an old farmhouse built around 1880. It is named after Madog, a Welsh prince known to have lived in the area in the 12th century. You will have beautiful views in every direction. There is a footpath that passes the front of the house. and it is a short walk to the village of Brynrefail on the edge of Padarn lake, where there is a fantastic cafe (Caban) and where you can catch the bus to yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). It is a great starting point for walking trips. Downstairs there is a lounge with a wood burner, dining room, kitchen, and toilet. Upstairs are the bedrooms and the main bathroom. There is a small garden with a swing seat and parking for cars directly in front of the entrance. All of these areas you will share with other guests. Guest access You are welcome to use all the shared space in the guest wing of Ty Madog. That comprises a dining room, kitchen, living room, upstairs bathroom with bath and shower, a downstairs toilet and garden. The kitchen area is available for making tea and coffee and for food preparation. There is a fridge, freezer, oven, hob and microwave, and plates, cutlery and glasses. Please remember that this is a shared space and that you need to clean up after yourselves. During your stay We live in the main house, so just come and knock (loudly) on the door or call or text us if you need us. We will be around on and off during the day sorting the breakfast supplies, cleaning and gardening. Other things to note We are happy to provide a simple DIY continental breakfast. This comprises cereals, yogurt, toast butter and jam and tea and coffee. Non dairy options are available and there is a fridge that you can use if you wish to bring something different. We have a very friendly collie called Enlli and a few chickens. The track to the house is very bumpy. Please drive with care. There is plenty of parking space, though positioning is crucial to enable everyone to get in and out easily.
