The Pigsty is a converted barn that was originally – you guessed it – a pigsty! It’s now been lovingly converted to provide a quirky “upside-down” retreat for couples, or the perfect work retreat over 2 floors. Nestled just four miles from the bustling heart of Falmouth, our smallholding offers a rural getaway just minutes from Cornwall’s best beaches and attractions. The space The Pigsty Highlights: 'Supersized fun' - Experience superking comfort in the mammoth bed. - Stream the TV you love with a Smart TV and WiFi, or relax to your favourite music with a DAB Bluetooth radio. - Refresh yourself in the spacious walk-in shower. - Get inspired in the 'nook' overlooking the Cornish countryside. - Unwind on your own private patio with a glass of wine enjoying views over the orchard. Set alongside 2 other holiday cottages on our smallholding 'Trewena Cottages', The Pigsty is complete with all modern amenities to ensure a relaxing and peaceful holiday in the idyllic Cornish countryside. Downstairs you’ll find the spacious bedroom which features a superking bed which can be split to form 2 singles on request. Next door is a bathroom and separate WC. To make the most of the far reaching countryside views, upstairs is the lounge which features high exposed beams, plus a nook overlooking the orchard to the rear. The first floor also has a kitchen with glorious uninterrupted views across the countryside. Outside the Pigsty at the front is a sitting out area that bathes in sun all day, whilst at the rear is a dedicated patio, perfect location to sit and enjoy the peaceful countryside. The cottage comes with a dedicated parking and plus access to the woods and wildflower meadow to the rear which includes a campfire area. GROUND FLOOR Bedroom: Superking double bed, bedside units, chest of drawers, wardrobe. Bathroom: Bath, basin, shower, heated towel rail. WC: Sink, washing machine. Please note there is only a 40 litre heater for the bath so if you like an immersive soak this cottage won’t be for you! FIRST FLOOR: Lounge: Smart TV, sofa, dining table & chairs, DAB radio with Bluetooth for streaming. Kitchen: Electric cooker and ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment. GARDEN & PARKING: Picnic bench right in front of The Pigsty which basks in the sun almost all day. Access to the wider grounds including meadow and small woods (also accessible to guests from our other two cottages). Private parking for one car is provided. MUST KNOWS Changeover Day: Arrival 3:00pm – departure 10:00am. Power and Heat: Electric heaters throughout. Bedding and Linen: Bed linen and towels provided, please bring your own beach towel. MOBILITY Please note that The Pigsty stairs are steeper and narrower than your average stairs so people with mobility issues may not be suited to this cottage. Guest access The Pigsty is a private cottage for up to 2 guests and includes a private patio for exclusive use with views over the orchard. Guests have access to the whole 3 acre site which includes a meadow, gardens and orchard. There is a campfire area in the meadow for guests to enjoy. There's a parking spot right outside of the cottage to ensure easy access and safe parking. Other things to note The site is part of our smallholding which is home to 2 other holiday cottages and our family home so we'll be within easy reach should you need any help or guidance!
