This stunning & rustic property sits on the edge of the village yet allows for serenity while exploring the trails, woods, gardens & farm animal views. A Private speakeasy-like entry takes you upstairs to a private loft-like Ballroom with original floors, doors, hardware, walls, windows and half-barreled ceiling! Historic paradise awaits! Experience local history staying in the upstairs Ballroom of an early Tavern House at our 14-acre farm near the Susquehanna River in the Foothills of the Catskills. A Private speakeasy-like entrance through our enclosed patio takes you upstairs to your own private loft-like Ballroom with original floors, doors, hardware, walls, windows and half-barreled ceiling! The raw & rustic Ballroom has a large open floor plan with dining, living, office/library areas as well as a full size bed separated with an antique privacy screen. At one end through original folding doors is a private bedroom suite with another full size bed. An antique cot/daybed is available for children (age 7 & under). An air mattress is also available if desired. Mattresses are brand new and very comfortable! All furnishings are rustic early, 1800s & 1900s antiques picked from local antique shops, auctions & estate sales. They are available for sale. A new modern full bath and mini-kitchen have been added for your convenience and comfort. The Otego Tavern House & Farm is located on the edge of the village on Main St. Taverns were typically positioned as you leave the village; so expect daytime light traffic. We live on the first floor of the Tavern House with our rescue cats; we are available as needed while giving you privacy and freedom on the 2nd floor. The farm has a 3 story antique barn with rescued & spoiled Nubian, Saanen & Alpine goats, 2 ponds and trails through open meadows and wooded foothills to explore. There are many flower gardens on the property as well as a large vegetable garden during the Spring & Summer. Watch for more animals as we continue to expand our rescues & farm. Within 10-15 mins you can find many restaurants, grocery stores & a hospital. In addition shops, cafes, antiques, local artists, movie theatre, golf, & a mall are nearby.
