Large modern family-friendly cabin where you can experience the beauty of Norway’s mountainous countryside. It’s a fantastic base for exploring, with access to swimming in rivers and lakes, hiking up mountains, and standing next to roaring waterfalls. The cabin is ideally situated between the city of Bergen and the stunning Hardanger fjord landscapes. Ideal for families looking for a country getaway but still wanting the convenience of modern amenities! The space The cabin has three bedrooms and can comfortably sleep eight people. There is one bathroom with floor-heating and a bathtub/shower, and a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, toaster, oven, microwave, and direct access to the front porch. The kitchen and living room make up a large open area, including an island with seating and an extendable dining table, long enough to seat 12. Outside, there are two sizeable decks with plentiful outdoor seating. Both provide beautiful views and are perfect for meals outside or a glass of wine in the Norwegian midnight sun. Sports/recreation equipment: There is a large trampoline, badminton rackets, inflatable inner tube, foosball table, as well as puzzles and games for kids. Upstairs, one of the large bedrooms contains a treadmill. The trampoline is not available during the winter or when there is snow. There are three grocery stores within a 15 minute drive, as well as good access to public transportation, with a bus stop within a five-minute walk. Bus #925 goes to and from the main bus terminal in Bergen sentrum. Keyless access with an electronic door lock. Within a short drive: City of Bergen - 1 hour Bergen Airport (BGO) - 1 hour Norheimsund and the Hardangerfjord - 20 minutes The Hardangerfjord is the fifth-longest fjord in the world, and this region is known for its fruit and prize-winning cider production. Norheimsund, a charming little town right on the water. Kvamskogen Landhandleri - 10 minutes Quaint country store with all the essentials, open seven days a week. Bjørkheim - 13 minutes Shopping center with two good-sized grocery stores Guest access The whole cabin is available for use, but please do not use our ski equipment or enter the locked room upstairs. Other things to note This is our family's cabin, and it is out in nature. We will of course do our best to clean, but there may be some of our things visible. No smoking inside, no pets, and no parties. At the end of your stay, please take out the trash to a neighborhood bin. We will provide instructions. We have one outdoor camera over the front door looking out towards the driveway. There can be considerable amounts of snow and/or ice in the winter, so we strongly recommend an all-wheel-drive vehicle to come up the driveway.
