Gîte de la Futaie – Quiet house with character

Charming building from the early 20th century with upscale amenities. Located on a beautiful one-hectare plot in the heart of the woods of the Sarthe countryside, our characterful gîte will be ideal for your quiet stay, 15 minutes from Le Mans. You will be seduced by its landscaped garden, large living room, 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Welcome home! The space #The space Completely renovated in 2024, the Futaie is a lovely 200 m² cottage with character that can accommodate up to 10 people (8 adults and 2 children) and offers its residents a warm living environment, combining the beautiful and the authentic. The interior spaces are generous and bright, while offering breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. Each of our rooms has its own universe with noble materials and all have beautiful views of the countryside, and special care has been taken in the choice of high-end bedding. Every detail has been thought of to ensure the well-being of the guests! On the ground floor you will find a warm living room of 75 m², including a living room with its fireplace (non-functional), a library and a dining area. In the continuity of the living space is a fully equipped kitchen to prepare tasty meals with local products. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with: oven, stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, dishes for 10 people. On the 1st floor, the following have been fitted out: - two master suites each with a queen size bed (160 x 200 cm), a bathroom with shower, private toilet and a TV screen; - a double bedroom with queen size bed (160 x 200 cm) and TV screen; - a children's room with two single beds (90 x 190 cm) including one in a wooden maisonette, the perfect place for children! - a bathroom with bathtub and toilet (shared bathroom between the double bedroom and the children's bedroom). On the 2nd floor, you will find a beautiful attic master suite with king size bed (180 x 200 cm), a bathroom with bathtub, private toilet and a TV screen. And for your comfort we provide you with: - many services on request (cleaning during your stay, breakfast, etc.); - baby equipment (bed and high chair); - a high-performance internet connection; - all bed linen and bath towels; - an ironing board and iron; - some basic groceries: coffee, tea, salt, pepper, etc. For prestige vehicles, a carport is present on the property and a secure electric gate protects the place. For any rental longer than 4 nights, we ask that a weekly cleaning be provided by our team (additional 150e per intervention, linen change included). #The Garden The garden of La Futaie extends around the house on 1 hectare of greenery bordered by woods and fields. The building is extended by the existence of a beautiful terrace on which garden furniture is available. The woods that partially border the garden offer shade and coolness on hot sunny days. The garden brings other surprises to tenants because it is decorated with fruit trees that will give delicious fruits ready to be picked during the summer, and the presence of horses around the property is a beautiful sight on a daily basis, appreciated by all nature lovers. You will also enjoy playing pétanque (or other) on the boulodrome. Finally, from the garden, it is very easy to reach the hiking trails that crisscross the countryside around the gîte. For safety and nuisance reasons, barbecues are prohibited. #Surrounding area The Maison de la Futaie enjoys an ideal geographical location for both adults and children with a wide range of entertainment close to the house to meet, rest and escape: - Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted by the proximity of the forest and hiking trails, whether for a short walk in the countryside or for a more sporty walk, the hiking options near the gîte will satisfy lovers of nature and discovery; - for horse riding lovers, the European Horse Center organizes equestrian competitions; - a golf course, at Le Mans Golf Club, is also accessible every day; - for thrills, a few minutes away by car, an exciting tree climbing park awaits adventurers who can test their agility and take on challenges suspended in the trees; - for families, an educational farm is located at the Maison de la Prairie in the heart of the Bois de Changé, 5 minutes from the house: donkeys, pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, aromatic garden and vegetable garden will be discovered in the middle of woods where you can easily walk or cycle. In addition, history and culture enthusiasts can explore the center of Le Mans with its museums and medieval city. A few minutes from the gîte, the Séquoïa serves a creative and gourmet menu where the dishes consist of fresh and seasonal products and from the dining room of the restaurant, its terraces, you will enjoy a very pleasant view of the park, the vegetable garden, the river and the woods.
