Metcalfe House is an impressive, detached property resting between the ancient market town of Somerton and medieval Glastonbury with its widely seen Tor, ideal for a large group of friends or family looking for a getaway close to the Somerset levels. Great walks direct from the rear of the property which homes a small caravan and camp site so guests are welcome to wander through the grounds and access the public footpath and discover some incredible sights and far reaching views across somerset The space SUITABLE FOR A MAXIMUM OF 17 GUESTS THIS 7 BEDROOM HOM has parking for at least five cars opposite the house but please note the drive leads to the quiet family run caravan site in the acre field behind the house so please do not leave young children to cross to cars from the front door alone and the road is busy so ensure if you have a dog it is on a lead so doesn’t stray onto the road. The key will be in the keysafe to the left of the front door on your arrival, please leave it there on your departure. Code is 1937 You are very welcome to walk through the campsite to the rear gate which gives direct access to some fabulous walks and a network of bridlepaths including a very short distance to the post office, village hall and recreational ground perfect for children wanting a play area or older ones as there is a basketball net and space for a kick around. The church is a little further afield and a steep walk beyond it leads to some spectacular views including the north somerset coastline and glastonbury tor itself PLEASE KEEP DOGS ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES whilst walking down the drive through the private site we have pet doves who are very tame and will not move from anything and sadly has already resulted in one death Bedding and towels are provided but please make it clear to the housekeeper and respectful to the environment if they arent used by leaving in a neat pile, the same with any unused beds can be indicated by the laminated sheets provided On the first floor to the right of the stairs there is one twin bedroom with two single beds, having a tv On the opposite side of the stairs there is one bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with a kingsize bed these two bedrooms share an ensuite shower room which can be locked from each bedroom There is another double bedroom with an ensuite cloakroom (just sink and toilet) Family bathroom on the second floor a bedroom with double bed plus additional single day bed Master kingsize bedroom with ensuite bathroom having separate shower and bath Check-in at Metcalfe House is from 16:00, and check-out is until 10:00am Guest access The whole house is available for guests to use giving them a lounge with woodburner, kitchen diner, conservatory opening onto an enclosed garden. There is a utility room and downstairs cloakroom also a games room with pool table Upstairs on the first floor there are two bedrooms with jack and jill shower room which can be locked off from each others bedroom, a double bedroom with private toilet and sink, a further twin bedroom plus a family bathroom with bath and shower over On the second floor is a twin bedroom Other things to note It is situated between Street/glastonbury and Somerton guving great access and there has been traffic calming introduced but it is on the road so some noise can be heard especially from the front of the house although it is double glazed throughout
