Description

Cedar Lodge is the perfect retreat for a peaceful break away. Nestled within Northumberland National Park, you'll be surrounded by endless walking trails, tranquil riverside spots and breathtaking waterfalls. Located in a designated Dark Sky Reserve, the lodge offers some of the clearest night skies in the UK — ideal for stargazing from the comfort of the garden. Cedar Lodge is also proudly dog-friendly, with no extra charge and no restrictions. The space Set near a quiet, remote village on the edge of Wark Forest (part of the wider Kielder Forest area), Cedar Lodge was originally built for forestry workers and now offers a cosy and tranquil base for exploring Northumberland. Within the village you'll find a play park, football field, nature trails, a river and a local club. Inside, the lodge features: ~Three bedrooms (1 twin, 1 double, 1 small double), sleeping up to six. ~An open plan kitchen, dining and living area. ~A bathroom with antique cast iron bath with electric shower. ~An enclosed private garden with space for dogs to roam. ~An outdoor picnic table, 2 double benches and a double wooden swing seat. ~A large dining table with views over the garden — perfect for birdwatching. ~Free WiFi throughout. Please note: There is a shallow stream (natural run-off) just outside the fenced garden. There are two entrances to Cedar Lodge: ~The main path, reached by the steps near the parking area at the top, which is the most direct way to the lodge. ~A secondary entrance accessed by crossing the small bridge over the stream, providing easier access to the village—ideal if you’re heading out for a walk or to local amenities. Parking is available at the top of the steps, a short walk from the lodge. Children are always welcome, though parents should supervise due to the nearby water and rural terrain Guest access Guests have full, private access to the entire lodge and enclosed garden. Access: The lodge is reached via a flight of uneven outdoor steps, which pass by a small number of other privately owned lodges. This is not a holiday park — each lodge is independently owned, with no site fees or shared facilities. The area is peaceful and residential in nature, so we kindly ask guests to keep noise to a minimum after 10pm out of respect for our neighbours. Parking is available at the top of the steps in a shared off-road area.
