Charming house in Caglio

UPDATE - replaced by airbnb.it/h/segantini This charming little house is located in the center of Caglio, a picturesque medieval village (originally called Funcai) in the heart of the Lake Como region. This is our family home, passed on through three generations. We have recently renovated it thoroughly and with care, preserving its authentic charm, for our own use and for selected guests. It is the ideal place for small groups who want to enjoy the beauty of the Como hills and their nature. The space The house is located along Caglio's main road - very easy to find. It is developed over 2 floors and it includes an ample terrace and a small garden. You will access the property through a pedestrian gate and, after a few steps, you will reach the terraced patio, which is equipped with outdoor furniture and a small barbecue. From there you can enjoy the view of the Grigna mountain or the Corno di Canzo. From the terrace you can access a small back garden. On the ground floor of the house you will find a spacious and bright living-room with traditional fittings (wooden floors, original doors and high windows), a modern, fully-equipped kitchen and a functioning fire place. There is also a bathroom complete with basin, WC and a bidet. A wide stone staircase will take you to the second floor, where you will find the master bedroom with a little balcony overlooking the garden, the second bedroom, and a full bathroom with a large walk-in shower, basin and WC. Both bathrooms and the kitchen were entirely renovated in 2023. The sofa in the living-room can be converted into bed (for 1 person); a portable crib is available upon request. Caglio's medieval web of small streets is only a few meters away from the house. Caglio also boasts a beautiful, spacious playground and public football, basketball and beach volley courts. The local cafe, pizzeria, pharmacy, newsagent and small supermarket (& bakery) are all within 200 meters of the house. In the summer, Caglio has a lively cultural life with art exhibitions (open air and in a small cultural center/library), choir performances in the church, and concerts in the main square. Several evenings per week, the local municipality and its volunteers organize family-friendly evening entertainment in the village's scenic open-air theatre including dance, traditional street food fairs and tombola games. In the autumn, it is a well-established tradition to go on chestnut-picking excursions ("castagnate"). Caglio is surrounded by mountains and is perfect for nature lovers, hikers and cyclists. There are plenty of hiking paths in the vicinity, with various degrees of difficulty (the easy ones are also suitable for children). An adventure park with ziplines in the forest is only 15 minutes away on foot (or 3 minute by car), next to a small pet zoo for the little ones. The closest beach on Lake Como is in Onno (20-25 minutes by car). The world-renowned village of Bellagio is 30 minutes away through a very scenic, windy mountain road. A large supermarket, petrol station, railway station and several other shops and services are available in the towns of Canzo and Asso, about 15 minutes away by car in the direction of Milan. Guest access You will have access to the full house during your stay. Some cupboards may be locked. Please note that it is necessary to climb some stairs to access both the patio and the second floor, so the house is not a good fit for those who struggle with stairs.
