Shepherd's hut with stunning countryside views
Description
Seafret is a beautifully crafted shepherd's hut nestled in the Bride Valley on our four acre hay meadow, surrounded by rolling hills with the promise of the sea beyond. The meadow is rich in wildlife; in late summer the hay is harvested and during the winter months our flock of Gotland sheep come to graze. Situated on the edge of the village, this is an ideal base to explore all that the countryside and Jurassic coastline have to offer, or just sink into the hammock and listen to the birds ... The space Shepherd's huts are traditionally small by design, built to be simple yet functional. Seafret has a gorgeous interior comprising a comfy double bed with plenty of storage underneath and a window that looks out over the valley. The bathroom has a toilet, wash basin and shower with views towards the vineyard. The kitchenette is well equipped with a gas hob, mini fridge and a fold down table for that essential morning cuppa, while the little hobbit wood burner ensures a cosy hideaway all year round. Step outside to take in the big view of Abbotsbury Ridge, the Knoll, Hardy's Monument and on a clear day, a glimpse of the sea. In the evening, wrap yourself in one of our throws and enjoy the beautiful surroundings by the warmth of the fire pit. You will have the entire field to yourself, occasionally shared with our flock of sheep and perhaps a deer, fox, badger or other wildlife that happen by ... Guest access Upon arrival, there is a short walk along a mown path through the meadow that leads you to the hut. Please note that due to the lie of the land and steps up into the hut, this property is not suitable for people with mobility concerns. Other things to note Seafret is solar powered with 12v usb sockets, for convenient mobile and laptop charging. There is free WiFi access at our friendly local village pub. Mobile reception is generally good, depending on your provider. Our main season runs from Easter to the end of October. If you would like to stay during the winter months, we may still be able to accommodate you, so please do get in touch.
