It is clear, from the stunning views across the English Channel, why this 1930s house was used by the Home Guard as an observation post during WW2 . Guests are welcome to relax in the south facing rear garden or summer house, which overlooks an area of outstanding natural beauty. It’s a short walk to the beach past 3 excellent pubs, which serve great food. Off-road parking and and secure bicycle storage are an added bonus. The space Guests will enjoy a sea view in a luxury kingsized bed and a beautiful bathroom. Kitchen facilities include kettle (tea, coffee, milk, sugar..), microwave and fridge. For a small additional cost, there is a cot and double bed in a different bedroom. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and snug (where they can watch TV). During your stay Guests will be greeted on arrival and they can message the host during their stay. Other things to note Kingsdown village boasts an excellent butchers, which is also a delicatessen selling proper hams, pies and cheeses etc. The post office stocks other basic provisions and is open every day! The beautiful church of St John The Evangelist is in the village centre. Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club is also nearby, as well as St Margaret’s Bay and the White Cliffs of Dover. Deal town centre, a short drive or pleasant walk away, offers a variety of independent shops, Saturday market, great restaurants and bars. Dover port is very close as are 3 railway stations, Martin Mill, Walmer and Deal. There is a bus stop close to the house with a service into Deal. Alternatively, there’s a selection of efficient taxi services. On request, the host can provide maps showing local cycle routes and walks.
