Milker's Cottage | Boutique Rural Heritage
Description
Retreat to the quiet luxury of Milker's Cottage. Kick off your shoes and immediately feel the continuous warmth of underfloor heating powered by our eco biomass heating system. The cottage, dating back to 1910, has been carefully and painstakingly renovated, filled with quirky curiosities, antiques and artwork. This peaceful escape is minutes from Sandhead and Portpatrick. The space The cottage is accessed from the south-facing garden at the rear of the property directly into a large sun-drenched kitchen with premium stone worktops. Enjoy a slow, home-cooked meal around the table and antique bentwood chairs. Just off the kitchen is a perfectly formed snug with Smart TV and a healthy collection of board games and books. The throws and cushions provide a cosy spot for lounging after dinner. The main bedroom has a French style king sized bed, upholstered in Belgian linen. An antique chest of drawers sits under a vintage reproduction Chippendale style wall mirror. The twin bedroom features two wrought iron beds with small overhead lamps to add the finishing touches. Between both bedrooms is a spacious family bathroom equipped with walk in shower and separate bath for a peaceful soak. At the rear of the property lies a boot room/utility with washing machine and pulley. The underfloor heating dries clothes speedily away from any muddy boots. There are plenty of iron hooks to hang jackets and a salvaged stone dairy sink found on the farm provides a deep spot to handwash any larger items or small dogs after a walk. Patio doors from the kitchen provide easy access to the garden. Enjoy alfresco dining in the sun- trapped garden for morning coffee or savour culinary delights from the BBQ with a glass of something chilled. As well as our biomass boiler, solar panels on our farm sheds capture the Galloway sunshine. These forms of renewable energy combined allows us to play our part in carbon neutrality. Guest access You will have access to the whole property and garden.
