Description
Unique, gorgeous 17th century country cottage with garden in quiet Suffolk village. Spacious relaxed, comfortable and characterful, with oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and a cottage garden with hollyhocks, roses and tree house. Pet & child friendly. Friendly historic village with pub, surrounded by stunning English countryside with walks, water meadows with wild swimming etc. Easy reach of Norwich, Bury St Edmunds, the coast and many rural attractions. The space There is a large, comfortable and picturesque living room, heavily beamed and double aspect with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, antique chests, grandfather clock, television, games and puzzles and desk with lovely view of the rear garden path. The kitchen has a brick floor, butlers sink, traditional bespoke timber units and Brittania double range cooker; the beautiful large dining room has polished stone floor with underfloor heating and large light oak table, and another inglenook. A winding stair leads to a beautiful double height landing, leading to two large beamed bedrooms with king beds, (one with old oak floor boards) and a smaller bedroom with wrought iron double bedstead. Stairs lead up to the lovely attic bedroom. Everywhere are views of the wrap around cottage garden full of roses and hollyhocks, on two levels, one with outdoor dining area and the other rough grass with tree house and veg plot. Other things to note This is a characterful 400 year old house. The stairs are original winders, floors are on different levels with steps and some floors are sloped - it therefore may not suit those with restricted mobility. (NB Airbnb’s algorithm has this in a National Park and Top City category - it is neither!!)
