The Cottage - Berry House

Nestled among sprawling gardens on 5 acres near Morpeth in the Hunter Valley, this gorgeous heritage listed cottage is part of the Berry House Estate built in 1857. Cosy up and unwind, or explore the broader Hunter Valley. The self contained cottage (converted servants quarters), is your own little oasis within the broader grounds of Berry House. Use the pool and sauna, explore the gardens, collect some farm fresh eggs, feed the sheep or just chill. The space Master bedroom with king bed and beautiful linen. 2 x quality sofa beds, seperate lounge with enclosed wood burning fireplace, large smart TV, heating/AC, WiFi, bathroom & shower, pool & sauna on grounds. Seperate kitchen/living area and a cooks delight with Smeg oven & gas cooktop, dishwasher and all the cooking utensils you might need. On site parking, pickups/transfers possible on request. Dog friendly but by request (please) and they need to be controlled due to chickens, sheep and other pets on the property. Guest access The cottage is totally self contained and is your private space. We will generally meet you on arrival but you can self check in if we’re not available. Trudie and I (Glenn) live on the property in the main Berry House (seperate from the cottage) but you are free to wander and use all the amenities, gardens, pool, sauna, collect eggs, use the veggie patch etc. We can leave you in total peace or engage with you as little or as much as you like and show you some of the history. Kids (and adults) can join me feeding the sheep, collecting eggs or lighting the fire pit in a regular sunset ritual when the weather and schedules allow. There is plenty of onsite parking. Pets are welcome although we ask you request permission when submitting a booking request. The chickens free roam so we ask dogs owners to be aware of that and keep an eye on your pampered pooch. The property is fully dog fenced. Please note, the cottage is fully cleaned prior to your arrival but living in a country property in a very old building we do occasionally get bugs or insects inside. We apologise for their intrusion and will happily assist their removal during your stay if needed. There is insect and surface sprays available under the sink. Other things to note 2 night minimum stay, sometimes longer for holiday periods. 30 minutes from Newcastle. 25 minutes from Newcastle airport. 2 hours drive from Sydney. 5 minute drive from Morpeth.
