Ettie the Avion
Glamp in vintage style in this 1963 Avion camper. Ettie has been completely remodeled, honoring her old school vibe but adding modern touches. Comfy mattresses, a cool couch for lounging, smart tv, plenty of electric outlets will all make your stay a great one. The patio with enclosed outdoor shower, lounge & cooking area, fire pit, picnic table just for 2 are all waiting for you to make memories. Take note: Ettie is small! Be sure that you'll be comfortable in the space before booking. The space This camper has been lovingly restored by the owners over the last couple of years. A newly upholstered vinyl couch is the focal point of the seating area, glammed up with soft pillows and throws. 2 small portable tables are great for enjoying a meal inside, workspaces, or just to lay your things on. A smart tv on a swivel mount is visible from either the living area or the bedroom area. Your own hotspot is required. The kitchen has a large sink, new solid walnut counters (with room for the electric cooktop), a microwave and a new fridge, storage in vintage cabinets above (complete with the original magnets to hold them open), drip coffee pot, pots & pans, plates, cups, flatware (much of it carefully curated vintage pieces). The sleeping area is 2 single beds, close enough to hold hands with each other. New mattresses and bedding, plus room darkening curtains, invite you to sleep in. The bathroom has a folding door for privacy, the original pink sink with a really cool faucet, and a new toilet. The shower, though restored, is too small to be comfortably used. Instead, there is a new outdoor shower. The fully enclosed room has a hand-made bench, lots of clothing hooks, outlets for hairdryers and other accessories, towel warmer, rain shower and handheld shower head, mirror, light, and a fan. The patio has a couch for lounging with a coffee table for playing games or enjoying a meal here. In the yard, relax in one of the Adirondack chairs tucked into a corner with the fire pit. Eat your meals at the picnic table built for 2. The Blackstone grill is on the patio, covered by a nifty little canopy. This area is lit with cafe lights, but has a large outdoor light for additional illumination. A note about Ettie's name: This Avion was owned by the Barnards, some of our friends from a long time ago. Raymond and Charolette camped in her a lot and then sold her to the couple who we bought her from. Ettie is a nickname for Charolette, and Eddie is one of the new owners, so... Ettie the Avion. We think Miss Charolette would love what we've done with her! Guest access Guests have access to the camper, parking area, and yard. The fenced yard, barn, and covered bridge is not accessible to Ettie's guests. Other things to note This camper has been lovingly restored by the owners over the last couple of years. Vintage campers were not designed to be large spaces, so please take note of the size of the space, particularly the height of the doors and the entry step, before booking. Some of the vintage lights have outlets attached that modern plugs do not fit. Other outlets have been installed to fit your plugs. Drinking water is located in the utility closet. The tap water is safe to bathe, brush teeth, and wash dishes in. The tap water is drinkable, but might taste stale due to the water system on the camper.
