Lovely 1 bed flat by the woods close to Cardiff

A beautiful one bedroom 1st floor holiday let on the edge of the wonderful Dinas Powys woods, yet only 10 mins to Cardiff city centre by car or train. Includes one spacious double bedroom, lounge/kitchen/diner with a sofa bed. Ideal location for walkers wanting to explore the area, holiday makers wanting a mix of town, country or seaside (15 mins to the glorious beaches of Barry), or parents of students at any of Cardiff's three universities. The space The Coppice Coach House is part of the The Coppice House built around 1915 for a coal importer/wood exporter. The house and coach house sit on the edge of Dinas Powys and Dinas Powys woods. The coach house has two rooms plus a bathroom, accessed by its own front door. There is a lounge, kitchen, diner which includes a table for 4 and a sofa bed. The bedroom has a double bed - a trundle bed is available for a child to use and we also have a travel cot (please bring your own linen for the travel cot). You can walk out across the The Coppice garden and paddock into the woods - it's a wonderful place to take your dog for a walk - Dinas Powys is a very dog friendly area. We even have a raw pet food store in the old village - Sig and Viv's, check their opening hours. Within Dinas Powys woods is an iron age fort. There are lots of lovely walks to be found in and around Dinas Powys the community council website gives 5 you might enjoy. The Dinas Powys Golf Course is near the centre of the village and visitors are welcome but please contact the club for more details. Within the golf club is the One O Clock Gate Restaurant, open Wednesday to Saturday and Sunday lunchtime. The food is delicious and highly recommended. You can also just pop in for a cuppa. We are also just 6 miles from Barry Island and Cardiff City Centre. There are 2 train stations in Dinas Powys - Eastbrook and DInas Powys - both accessed from Cardiff Road. They are walkable from The Coppice but on your way back there is an uphill walk with a short stretch on a country road (no pavement). At the heart of the old village are 3 pubs within a stone's throw of each other. Behind the The Star Inn is the contemporary restaurant, The Humble Onion. Well worth a visit but make sure you check availability. There are several takeaways in the old village centre, including Indian and Chinese plus our personal favourite the Grill and Oven kebab and pizza shop - offering vegetarian and vegan options but you do have to collect it yourself. We also have a couple of tea and coffee shops in the village centre. The Village Stores is in the centre of the old village - run by Bobby, has all the essentials. On the main road through the village Cardiff Road, are a very well stocked Nisa and pharmacy. Just off Murch Road is a Tesco Express and Valley2View grocery stores plus the best Fish and Chips around at Queens Fish Bar. Also off Murch Road on Plas Essyllt is the Quality Deli and round the corner is the butchers both run by Glen Griffiths. Guest access The whole is of the coach house flat is available for guests use and is not shared with anyone else. Other things to note The accommodation is accessed via a flight of stairs and isn't suitable for wheelchair users or those who struggle with stairs. We ask that guests bringing their furry family with bring their own blanket or bedding for their pet to sit on. 🐕
