The space KOOKABURRAS in Springbrook… Exclusive access to our designed home, featuring a “cathedral like” living/dining room, spacious but cosy, huge cypress beams, and large windows to let natural light and greenery reflect indoors. Our self catering home is nestled amongst huge trees and right on the doorstep of the most spectacular walks and waterfalls, cafes and other activities. Many rainforest animals visit our land including parrots, whip birds, kookaburras, and pademelons (small wallabies) and land mullets. Springbrook is the largest tropical rainforest with most varied species of animal and plant life in Australia, a wonderland of nature. Stylishly decorated with chandeliers, French provincial furniture, fireplace, and 2 comfy queen size beds, so that you can choose to get outdoors and walk, or relax and enjoy the romance of our home. A new kitchen, bathroom and laundry are filled with quality provisions, fittings, & appliances, awaiting your visit. And all linen is high quality also, as are the comfortable beds. Delight in the peaceful time to cook in this new, spacious kitchen, or partake is several lovely cafes during the day. A fire pit outdoors will help you unwind and share happy memories with family or friends…the perfect time and ambience to tell stories and jokes and just be with each other. The main room is ideal to spend wonderful time with friends and family playing games, reading, or relaxing in front of the fireplace. (On a possible rainy afternoon, you have plenty of inside space to enjoy.). And of course there is the deck for an alternative place to have a meal & enjoy the trees & birds, or grab the picnic gear and head to a famous picnic spot, of which there are several (with gas bbq's and tables). Quality long burning ironbark Firewood is chopped and ready for both the fireplace and firepit, quality kitchen supplies and all linen. You only need to bring your own food. Only 1hr 20 min from Brisbane or 45 min from Gold Coast. Free parking on site for 2 vehicles. Fresh rainwater has 3 filters for purity, and clean mountain air is a crisp 3-5 degrees cooler than the city, giving you a recharge. Comfort all year round with reverse cycle air conditioning, stylish new fireplace and bathroom heating. Indulge in the class of quality linen and comfortable bedding. We have an interesting bookshelf, abundant board games, and a smart TV with Netflix and many other channels, set up for your entertainment in case of a wet afternoon. The area is full of world class walks and my GUIDEBOOK gives you lots of ideas of other things to do also, in the area and on the way up. Our home is all stocked up and awaits you. Come and unwind and immerse yourself in nature with the trees and birds. Ideal for a romantic couples escape, families, friends, and also people requiring easy access, aging or disability. Please note that our home and the rainforest environment are only suitable for children aged 5 and above with supervision. Guest access Two bedrooms, and one bathroom with walk-in luxurious shower, toilet with rail, and stylish vanity. Full new kitchen, dining and living room, work desk and swivel office chair (with a great view of the trees!), laundry, deck, and garden firepit area. There’s undercover parking or parking directly next to the front stairs, and sensor lighting outside. The 5 stairs into our home are wide with double railings, and the single level house has easy access for people with walking difficulties or aging. The entrance from undercover parking to our home is flat, well lit, and easy to navigate. You also have access to the whole yard and all its beauty. There are huge tree logs covered in moss and lichens, native flowers and trees, and sufficient space for a second vehicle to park if you require it. Other things to note Our new KITCHEN is kitted out with quality new appliances and 5 star supplies- (capsule coffee machine, and also drip filter coffee machine, teapot, milk frother, sandwich maker, toaster, kettle, Bosch electric oven and gas cooktop, microwave oven, full Westinghouse fridge/freezer, Miele dishwasher and all pots, pans, pizza trays, oven tray, chopping boards, casserole dish, enamel pie dish, crockery, cutlery, bowls, beater, measuring cups and spoons, grater, sifter, bottle stop, and cooking utensils). *One large kitchen drawer has been left empty for your packets, tins or any food you bring and need to store whilst here. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and sugar are provided. There are also washing up supplies (liquid and dishwasher tabs), rubbish liners, glad wrap, baking paper, aluminium foil, paper towels, salt, pepper, olive oil, tomato sauce and limited spices. (Please note that a carbon monoxide alarm is not required because the gas cooktop safety switch is to be turned off after use (as per instructions). The switch cuts the gas supply from the stove and therefore the home also. We have installed this as the best practice of operation for your safety.) Also provided are mosquito repellent if needed in summer, an emergency supply of bottled water, and of course laundry powder and handwashing liquid for washing clothes. There are full laundry facilities- washer, dryer, tub with hot and cold water, drying racks and even a clothes line, basket and pegs. Other supplies are provided for your use, but please leave for all to enjoy and make use of. There are ponchos and umbrella for wet conditions, picnic rug, torches, night lights, batteries, radio for emergencies, first aid kit, scented candles. *BRING FOOD. Cafes are open limited hours. Come prepared to self cater all meals. Dancing Waters Cafe is open most days for limited hours with some great food. The Sitting Room Cafe at Canyon lookout has just reopened from Fri-Sun. Alberts on Lyrebird is open during the day from Fri-Tues. Springbrook Cafe and Bar has some general grocery supplies, lunch most days, and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights (burgers etc). The Fudge Shop also with some food and lots of sweet things etc. Check their sites for details of hours and menus. They are all close by. We ask you to be thoughtful to our wonderful neighbours and keep noise down to decent levels, particularly between 10pm-7am. Our home is not a party venue. FIREWOOD, firelighters, kindling, igniter wand, fireplace utensils, and newspaper are all provided for the fireplace (big timber box and kindling box inside) and fire pit. We provide a generous amount of good quality, dense, slow burning iron bark. *Bring your own marshmallows for the outdoor firepit. Toasting forks (extendable) are provided for your joy in this activity together. Many of the WALKS are short and either easy, or moderate, catering for people who have some level of walking difficulty or age related issues with mobility. We have included all walks and tracks and level of difficulty in our information brochures at our home, and we can provide recommendations based on your needs and interests. In the event that you need to cancel or leave early as a result of an extreme weather event, bushfire, or power outage, you will receive a full refund for any unused nights. *Small portable power station is supplied in rare event of power outage. We want to create an environment where you feel at peace and immerse yourself in nature. We invite you to disconnect from devices and experience the maximum healing of the trees and birds, fresh air and water.
