Paddock House is a recently renovated century-old home in the Fall Creek neighborhood of Ithaca, perfect for families and pets, writing retreats, and quiet get-aways. Close to downtown as well as Cornell. The spectacular Ithaca Falls is just three blocks away!! Stroll along the waterfront trail to the Ithaca Farmers Market. Walk to downtown Commons and Dewitt Mall. Meander through the Fuertes Bird Sanctuary to the Cayuga Lake shore. And Ithaca is flat for easy biking with Ithaca Bike Share. The space When you arrive, park under the carport and step up to the generous front porch and cross the threshold into Paddock House. COMFORTABLE LIVING The living room is comfortable and ready for lounging with smart TV, WIFI, and large windows with long views. The formal dining room has a vintage chandelier, sidebar, and drop-leaf table. Kitchen is equipped with a breakfast table and chairs. High ceilings, warm colors and lots of natural light are throughout the home. BEDROOMS AND BATH Three bedrooms (queen, full, and full) overhead lights, workspace, large windows, classic closets and gable-sloped ceilings. The upstairs bathroom is new: heated, tiled, and well-appointed with towel bars, door hooks and natural light. Bodywash, shampoo, and conditioner provided. KITCHEN AND GARDEN A full-service kitchen is stocked with the basics. Cook yourself a great Ithaca meal with produce from the farmers market and GreenStar Food Co-op. The kitchen leads to a large three-season room that overlooks the large fully fenced back yard. Steps and a wood-railed ramp guides you to the carport and the garden—ample space for children and pets. NEARBY Before you unpack, walk down the street to the Ithaca Falls--dramatic and different every day. Within a few blocks are Botanist and gimme! coffee shops, Wide Awake Bakery, NorthStar Public House, Fall CreekTavern and Ithaca Diner. You are walking distance to Kinney Pharmacy, Highly Connected cannabis dispensary, and Aldi’s grocery store. Playgrounds and parks are a hop, skip, and a jump! The not-to-be-missed Ithaca Farmers Market is a 10-minute walk. A little further down the road are GreenStar Co-op natural food market and Purity Ice Cream. Did you know Carl Sagan is buried in Ithaca? Visit his resting place, as well as those of Civil War veterans, in nearby Lakeview Cemetery. Carport has room for 3-4 vehicles. Back yard is fenced for children’s and dogs’ safety. Unique passcode unlocks both exterior doors. Other things to note Dogs are welcome with advance notification to host. No laundry facilities in the home but clean good quality laundromats are nearby. Cornell campus is a 20+ minute hike or 10-minute bus ride. Ithaca College is a 15-minute drive. Host is happy to offer activity suggestions and tips for visiting Ithaca.
