Description

Reconnect with nature at this tranquil, rural romantic hideaway. A warm welcome to Brick Kiln Farm, a 15 acre smallholding tucked away in a quiet corner of East Suffolk. Home to a small herd of Belted Galloway cattle and a medley of roving wildlife. Situated within 20 minutes of the heritage coast, there is plenty to explore in nearby Aldeburgh, Southwold, Walberswick and Snape. The area is well served for village pubs, cafes, delis, antique shops, the arts, culture and outdoor pursuits. The space This tipi is French themed with a white painted French vintage 1950s king size bed and matching bedside tables, two Parisian 1930s pink velvet tub chairs and a 1920s Chinoiserie lacquered floral coffee table. Crisp white bed linens, encasing a natural feather and down duvet offset the vintage hand embroidered Suzani throw and pink soft linen-cotton mix retro style cushions. A carved elegant limed wood swan side table adds a touch of Parisian elegance. For warmth there is a glass fronted log burner and soft neutral Nordic rugs and throws. Indulgent luxury white robes and fluffy cotton towels are provided. Guest access Guests are welcome in the tipi field, the old dairy kitchen, the courtyard within the kitchen complex, the shower and toilets. Guests are advised not to approach the cattle as they can behave unpredictably in an unfamiliar situation. Avoid touching the electric fencing. Parking is available in the courtyard area. Please respect the private areas of the farm. The nearest pub is the Rendham White Horse, a diners' pub, 2.5 miles away. The Sibton White Horse Inn and the White Horse Inn, Sweffling (drinkers' pub with limited food) are within 3 miles, all serving craft ale. There are cafes and delis in nearby Rendham, Yoxford Darsham and Peasenhall, notably the Black Dog Deli and the Two Magpies Bakery. Tesco and Waitrose in Saxmundham are the nearest supermarkets. At Friday St, just down the A12 you will find a well stocked farm shop with cheese room, butchers and a traditional fishmongers supplying locally sourced sustainable fish. Southwold, (famous for the Adnams brewery) Aldeburgh, Woodbridge, Framlingham and Orford are within 30 minutes by car. For a bracing beach walk visit the shingle beaches at Dunwich, Sizewell and the holiday resort of Thorpeness. For wild and sandy beaches head to the popular village of Walberswick or scramble down the track to the more remote Covehithe beach, only accessible on foot. Join the beach yoga sessions in the summer or book a sauna at the Sauna Box at Dunwich beach. For wellness, the Harmony Centre at Walpole offers a wide range of complementary therapies and workshops. For nature lovers, there is Dunwich Heath, RSPB Minsmere, Snape Marshes and Orford Ness. Snape Maltings, a pioneering music, arts and heritage is only 15 minutes away, perfect for a gentle stroll along the reedbeds, a river trip, or exploring the many on site independent shops and cafes. Explore the county's heritage at the Anglo Saxon ship burial site at Sutton Hoo, or visit Framlingham Castle, the Bigod family seat. And finally no trip would be complete without a visit to the many antique shops dotted around the area, at Yoxford, Friday Street, Marlesford Mill and Thorpeness Emporium. Other things to note This is a working farm and guests are asked to be responsible for their own safety. As we are in the country the terrain can be uneven and guests are advised to bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Expect to hear the sounds of farm animals and wildlife, so if you are a light sleeper be prepared! Please respect the wildlife and animals on the farm and be aware that there is electric fencing on site. In the winter, when the days are shorter you may need to bring a torch if you are out walking.
