Located in the center of Halifax’s entertainment and nightlife district, the Cameo Hotel and Suites not only captures the spirit of the city, it immerses you in it. This suite is also adjacent to the roof top patio of The Pint restaurant and pub, which turns into a night club in the evening. On warm summer weekends, the Pint rooftop bar can be very noisy, as they are allowed by law to play outdoor music until 2am. This is why all suites facing the Pint are offered at a discount compared to equivalent accommodations in this area of downtown Halifax, and compared to our own suites facing away from the night club districts. Please plan your stay accordingly and select a different suite if you require a quieter environment on those nights. Suites ending in -01 and -02 face away from the nightclub district and are generally quieter. Other things to note LOADING/OFFLOADING AND PARKING Our prime downtown location, in a historic heritage building, provides guests with the convenience of being steps away from all the attractions Halifax can offer. This also means that guests must plan ahead for parking. Cameo Suites does not provide its own free or paid parking. If you arrive by car and would like information about parking options, please visit The Parking page in our website. Please note that you may park temporarily on Barrington Street in front of Cameo Suites to disembark, unload/load luggage, wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Please park in the area marked with a "loading zone" sign, and make sure you don't encroach on the bus stop located near the hotel's entrance. Once you've successfully offloaded your luggage, you can proceed to the parking location of your choice. Most guests use the Metro Park garage, located within a 2-minute walk from the hotel entrance. CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES Check-in time at Cameo Suites is any time after 4:00pm, and check-out time is 11:00am. We do not provide early check-in or late check-outs. All locks are set electronically and your codes activate/deactivate at the appropriate check-in/check-out times. LUGGAGE STORAGE FOR EARLY CHECKINS AND LATE CHECKOUTS You can store your luggage before check-in or after check-out in the luggage room located in the lobby area. The code you will receive for your room will allow you to access the luggage room from 6am of your check-in date to 6pm of your check-out date. LOCATION, NOISE AND NIGHTLIFE DISTRICT This suite faces a loud outdoor night club that is active during the summer months. The suite rate is discounted as guests may experience loud noise late into the night. The Cameo is an urban hotel located in the centre of downtown Halifax's dining, entertainment and nightlife district. We offer unparalleled access to downtown's lively activities, tourist attractions, cafes, live music, bars, festivals, parades, sports, conventions and other special events. We host a variety of guests: some are attracted to the hotel's proximity to the nightclub district, as they plan to participate in the area’s late night activities. Others are attracted to its exceptionally low rates and don’t mind being in a busy and potentially loud area of downtown to lower the expense of their visit to Halifax. For context, the Cameo's nightly rates can be 50% lower (or more!) than current market rates for equivalent accommodations in downtown Halifax. If you're not familiar with Halifax, please research our location thoroughly. Depending on the season, your suite's location within the building, and the day of the week, you may experience various levels of noise from nearby bars, restaurants and outdoor patios going late into the night. Noise regulations in the entertainment district allow for outdoor noise until 2am. Outdoor patios are typically closed for the majority of the year and on rainy days. Most guests experience no noise at all and have a wonderful stay at a great price. This is why our guest review ratings are among the top 10% of downtown hotels. WHICH SUITES FACE WHICH STREETS Suites that end with the numbers 01 and 02 (201, 402, etc.) face Barrington street, Halifax's main downtown traffic artery. A convenient bus stop is located in front of our entrance. Suites that end with 03, 04 and 05 face Argyle street and the famous "pizza corner", which is Halifax's main nightlife street where revelers enjoy a variety of pubs, clubs and live music venues.
