Cozy, romantic, vintage coast cabin
The William & Mildred Suite is a cozy vintage cabin perfect for a romantic getaway. Super comfy king size bed, jacuzzi tub, 2 gas fplcs, kitchenette (stove, fridge, sink), bbq, bar, dining, and deck. Pets $20/night. The suite decor tells the true story of young love through authentic WWII letters, photos, memorabilia, and furnishings. Dreamy! Old-timey games, firepit, archery, dvd library, weekend happy hours, and chickens and goats complete the charming scene. The Suite is located on the grounds of The Andiron, an 11 cabin inn perfectly situated on five acres of meadow and woods on Highway 1 in Little River, California. Minutes away from everything - beaches, wineries, diving, hikes, Mendocino, breweries, good food - but quiet, relaxing, and fun, our housekeeping cabins and rooms are each entirely unique and reflect our love of everything vintage, salvaged, rehabbed, and recycled. You'll find fifties fabrics, your favorite childhood games and puzzles, badminton, croquet, funky lamps, and so much more. Add super-comfy beds and weekend happy hours, and you've got a mighty fine getaway. Plus, we think your pets are swell, so bring 'em along ($20 per pet/night)! Pet goats, (seasonal) organic chicken eggs, extensive dvd library, fresh coffee and tea, croquet, badminton, archery, fire pit. Hosted happy hours on weekends; front-desk manager available every day; on-site caretaker available most nights. Little River is just a few miles south of Mendocino on California's North Coast, aka the "end of the world." It is one amazing, cool, beautiful, funky area. Start with the view. I mean, the VIEWS. Honestly, there's an incredible nook and unforgettable cranny every minute or so along Highway 1. That means that catching a sunset or a stroll is easy - and usually not crowded. There are big sandy beaches, rocky coves, unmarked blowholes, wildflower-covered bluffs, secret vistas, and even a glass beach! All for you! The grand outdoors. From the casual biker to the more outdoorsy type, there's really something for everyone here - kayaking, abalone diving, fishing, hiking, biking, more. Whether you want to snag a canoe and just splash about for an hour with your kids and the dog, or you're more hard core and have brought your wet suit and are diving for abalone, you'll find it five minutes from The Andiron. The arts. Artists and arty types flocked here during the last century, and helped turn the North Coast into a special place. Not just with art (which is everywhere here) but with what they inspire to flourish around them. Good old bookstores, cool junk shops, tons of fine theater, art classes, our film festival, and an appreciation for culture that seeps into daily life. And...the hippies! You can't mention Mendocino without acknowledging the hippies who helped shape it. In the sixties and seventies, the back-to-landers made the coast their home. The result? A respect for the land that has never left and that's good news for you - our farmer's markets are rich with local produce that shows up at many restaurants. The weather doesn't change too much from winter to summer here, but every season does bring a shift in the wildlife on our coasts and in our forests. Birdwatchers are pretty happy here. So are whale watchers. And then there are the seals (and the BABY seals). Totally worth seeing. I'm afraid you need wheels. Our place is really special and so are all of our guests! All of our staff are vaccinated for COVID and we require all guests over the age of 12 be vaccinated as well.
