Perfect for those who like to try something different each day or just want to chill in an island oasis among the dolphins, mantees & seabirds. Nestled in the heart of Matlacha, you will love the views & sunsets. 2 King Bedrooms, one queen and 1 pull-out sofa. The space Our cozy cottage is the perfect get away! You will love the peaceful views while sipping your coffee overlooking the bay. Fabulous evening sunset are a staple! Our home features 3 bedrooms (2 KING beds, a queen bedroom and 1 sleeper sofa.) Lots of common living space in the open concept living, dining, kitchen and sunroom gives you room to spread out yet still be together overlooking the pool and lanai. This home is perfect for working remotely with lots of table space, a large lanai with plenty of outdoor seating, a patio table, comfortable outdoor seating with beverage fridge and pool! There are bikes, kayaks, beach chairs & beach towels available. You will have access to our boat lift and our newly added floating dock. Please note there is a separate studio apartment with its own entrance attached to the property with a long-term tenant who is hardly there and very quiet. You will have the whole house, lanai, docks and yard to yourself. Guest access You can get to everything in town by walking, biking, kayaking or boating. The driveway has room for 2 cars. Launch one of our 7 kayaks from our quaint coral cottage to get up close and personal on the Great Calusa Blueway Kayak Trail meandering through the coastal waters of Pine Island Sound and Matlacha Pass. This 190-mile trail guides you directly behind our home. Nature expeditions and fishing charters abound in town. It will be a 10 minute drive to the nearby Publix Supermarket to stock up for your stay. Boating? This home is less than 30 minutes to the open water of the Gulf for world class fishing. There is live music all day and waterfront dining. Try a different restaurant nightly or catch your own. Bring your boat or rent one locally, delivered right to our boat lift. We have several bikes for your use as well, so start at the house and head over to Pine Island where there is a 16 mile bike path to explore from end to end. Additional bikes can be rented nearby if you need a few more. There are at least 3 separate spaces that can be used for working from here. Wifi is strong and we have had 5 people on zoom at once when needed. Remember, it is an island though, so storms can knock out the power / wifi on occasion. Close to these barrier islands: (Go by boat, car or water taxi from Bookelia 10 mins away): Cayo Costa State Park- secluded beach for snorkeling / shelling accessible by boat/water taxi Cabbage Key- cheeseburger in paradise, this quintessential eatery is accessible by boat / ferries available Boca Grande - historic Lighthouse & Museum, lifestyles of the rich and famous Sanibel - world-famous shelling beaches & nature preserve Captiva - beautiful beaches teaming with wildlife, fun restaurants, bars, and upscale shops Explore Other nearby areas Cape Coral - drive to restaurants, shops and nightlife downtown Fort Myers - parasailing, wave running, beach bars and nightclubs Less than 45 min. to RSW or Punta Gorda Airport Other things to note Enjoy the view or the seafood, our island oasis is a naturalist’s dream where the living is laid back. Watch dolphins frolic right outside the lanai, in the protected Matlacha Aquatic Preserve. View wildlife in the mangrove islands or seagrass flats, spot a seabird on the dock or a manatee swimming by, wildlife is in abundance everywhere you turn! World-class fishing is available in minutes by boat to Matlacha or Boca Grande Pass & Pine Island Sound, minutes to the Gulf of Mexico or a short walk to the fishing-est bridge in the USA (US Fish and Game Commission) or fish right off of our dock! Come and experience one of the few remaining OLD FLORIDA barrier islands. Matlacha might be Florida’s best-kept secret. This colorful and vibrant small town has everything within walking distance. From fresh catch waterfront restaurants, quaint shops, and fabulous art galleries, Matlacha has a funky vibe that will thrill your camera lens.
