Picacho Cottage

Our house is located at the foot of El Picacho Mountain. Teotitlán, is a community full of tradition, a place where grandparents share their knowledge in Zapotec and life goes on day by day. It is a village full of life and sounds that we value : nature, looms, rockets and bells that mark our daily rhythm. In the house you will have a room and the bathroom is shared and is separate from the room. If you are not inconvenient, welcome. The space In the house you will have a private room located in the most secluded part of the home, which provides greater tranquility and privacy. However, it is important to mention that the bathroom is located outside the room and is shared. Even so, you won't have any privacy issues as the house has another additional bathroom. Other things to note If you decide to stay with us, we ask that you respect the customs of the community and the privacy of our people. Teotitlán is a beautiful place, worth photographing and sharing; however, we ask you to do so responsibly and always with people's consent. Regarding the noise level: if you don't like the typical sounds of a small town—fireworks, cars, and everyday noises—this might not be the place for you. Although our house is on the outskirts and is generally quieter, it is important to understand that band music, fireworks, radio, and other activities are part of the daily and cultural life of the community, so we do not accept complaints about them. We are sharing this because, although our community welcomes many visitors, we have occasionally observed intrusive behavior, such as taking photos without consent or asking neighbors to lower or turn off their music. Therefore, we aim to welcome people who value and respect the community as it is.
