This newly renovated stone house in the woods is the perfect getaway for all seasons! The home sits across the road from the Pequea Creek and we don't think there's anything more peaceful than a morning cup of coffee on the front porch listing to the babbling sounds of the creek. Three bedrooms comfortably sleep 10 guests, and we've added a Blackstone, hot tub (with creek views), outdoor and indoor fireplace, games and more to ensure you have the best possible experience during your stay. The space The entire home is beautiful and very well stocked, but we're guessing your favorite spaces will be the outdoor ones. There's a patio with a firepit for two just outside the master bedroom, a deck with patio furniture + a gas fire pit + a hot tub (overlooking the creek), the front porch with a Blackstone for grilling up breakfast or dinner + comfortable furniture for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine, and then of course the yard and grassy areas across the street next to the creek. This area next to the creek is really the star of the show. There is another firepit with six Adirondack chairs, and you're welcome to fish from the banks of the creek or enjoy the swimming hole a few yards to the right. This is the perfect spot to launch kayaks on a trip down the creek to where it connects with the Susquehanna at the Pequea Marina! (Plan kayak pickup beforehand- may be available for a fee). The water isn't deep enough here for a motorized boat, but this home is just a few minutes drive from the Pequea Boat Launch so if you'd like to bring your boat or pontoon, you'll have easy access to a launch on the Susquehanna River just 1.5 miles down the road. We also provide bocce ball, corn hole, and ladder ball and the yard next the front porch is a perfect spot for yard games during the warmer months. Back inside the house, we're sure you'll notice and appreciate how well stocked the home is. We've tried to think of everything from kitchen supplies to board games, so whether you're planning to cook a nice dinner in or having game night + takeout you'll be set. FLOOR PLAN is as follows: FIRST FLOOR: Inside the front door you'll find an open concept floor plan with the kitchen, dining area, and living room. There is a propane fireplace, Smart TV (so you can log into all your favorite streaming apps), powder room and laundry on this floor as well. SECOND FLOOR: On this floor you'll find the bunk room (2 full beds) and master queen bedroom, both with plenty of closet space. You'll also find the full bathroom (double bowl vanity and tub/shower), and the outdoor patio off of the master bedroom. THIRD FLOOR: This loft area has a queen bed and a full pull out sofa. What we provide: Toiletries. All linens. Kitchen supplies include spices, salt, pepper and oil. What we do not provide: Streaming subscriptions for TV. Pantry items (i.e. flour, coffee, sugar). NEARBY HIGHLIGHTS: *Hiking trails abound in close proximity. Our favorites spots are along the Enola Low-Grade Trail- two Trestle Bridges are within a few minutes drive from the home. We provide more information at the home, but watch for herons, red-tailed hawks, osprey and bald-headed eagles while hiking, or bring bikes/e-bikes to explore more of the 29 miles of scenic views on the Enola Low Grade Trail. *Climbers Run Nature Center - great for kids. *Silver Mine Park - great for kids. *Cherry Hill Orchard- fruit picking and hayrides in the summer. *Ambush Airsoft and Paintball *Downtown Lancaster for the best food scene. Among our personal favorites are Calalloo Trinidadian, Sukhothai, Luca, Annie Bailey’s Pub, and The Sweet Shoppe. And don’t miss visiting Central Market in Downtown Lancaster on Tuesdays, Fridays or Saturdays. *Pine View Dairy- the BEST homemade ice cream a 12 minute drive from your vacation rental! *Shenks Ferry Wildlife Preserve *Fox Hollow Nature Preserve- walk the Trolley Trail to the swimming hole for hours of fun for all ages, or enjoy it as a scenic walk *Trout Run Nature Preserve Trail *Martic Township Park *Steinman Run Nature Preserve Trail *Cold Cave is also local- be educated in caving, take flashlights, be wise, and always error on the side of caution! Other things to note This home is located near a hunting preserve so there is a small chance you will hear distant gunshots during your stay. We can assure you it is very controlled and a safe distance from the house (on the other side of the hill).
