Maybole Stay is a small family home set in the heart of North Carrick in beautiful Ayrshire. We offer a comfortable, clean home-from-home with a warm welcome. The house has an enclosed garden and many amenities within walking distance. Maybole is well connected for public transport with its own train station and bus service. It is the perfect location to explore our stunning rural and coastal scenery. It is near to the Galloway Forest Park and is an hour's drive from Glasgow. The space Our property is a cosy, red sandstone semi detached house with it's own front door and private garden. There are three steps leading up to the front door from the pavement and three steps leading out to the garden from the kitchen door. There is a downstairs toilet. The stairs to first floor have a handrail on the right and a bannister half way up on the left. We have installed a stairgate at the top of the stairs. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house and garden. At the rear of the house, there is shared access to the street, with the next door neighbours, through the garden. There is one locked cupboard upstairs and one locked kitchen cupboard where we store our family items. Other things to note Maybole is a small town in South West Scotland 3 miles from the sea, 43 miles south of Glasgow and 8 miles from Ayr. Although the high street has suffered in recent years, like many small towns, it is set in beautiful countryside with many coastal and historic attractions nearby. These include Culzean Castle, Maidens harbour, the picturesque village of Straiton, the old fishing port of Dunure - where Outlander was filmed, the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Burns Cottage, The Galloway Forest Park and Galloway International Dark Sky Park. A day trip to the beautiful island of Arran (known as Scotland in Miniature) is easy both by car and public transport. We are on National Cycling Route 7. *Please note that the beaches and attractions in the photographs are best accessed by car or the public transport that connects Maybole to nearby coastal villages and Culzean Castle. If you click on each photograph, you will find more detail. Maybole is well served with amenities, all within walking distance from the house. These include shops, pubs, take-aways, post office, cafes, a supermarket, hairdressers, garage, pharmacies, hardware store, library, swimming pool, gym, nine hole golf course, skate park. There is a children's playpark nearby (Miller Park). Maybole has a lovely eaterie - the Greenside Restaurant, within a short walk. Carrick Community Centre, just by Maybole train station, has a cafe which is open most days 10-4pm - check for times - and a free soft play area for younger children. There are numerous walking routes nearby including the Ayrshire Coastal Path. Maybole has excellent public transport facilities both rail and bus. Timetables for rail are available through Scotrail's website or App and for bus, through Stagecoach. These services connect you north to Glasgow and beyond and south to Girvan, Stranraer and ferries from Cairnryan to Ireland. Glasgow airport (48 miles) and Glasgow Prestwick airport (16 miles) are easily accessible by road and rail. There are many good municipal 18 hole golf courses in addition to Maybole's 9 hole course, within easy reach including Girvan (10 miles south); Ayr - Belleisle and Seafield ; 3 18 hole golf courses in Troon (18 miles - 30 mins on A77) and Ravenspark in Irvine (21 miles).
