The cabin is equipped with - a king size firm bed, cotton sheets , pillows and a mosquito net; - a private outdoor shower with hot water, and epic sunset view; - private compost toilets. You will have access to the farm kitchen / living room area with a stove, sink, fridge, freezer, Vitamix blender and water filter (our water comes straight from the volcano spring, it is one of the best in the world!) The farm employees might be around the farm kitchen between 9am and noon but they will give you some privacy and will not come close to the cabin. Please buy groceries for your meals before arriving to our farm because it is a 15 minutes drive or 45 minutes walk into town from the cabin. We also have organic farm produces for sale to improve your stay like homemade yogurt, ghee, honey, cacao, chocolate, and some greens and herbs. We can teach you the walk to town or ideally you come with your own vehicle to be independent on the island. The island here is wild lush Nature so be prepared to live with the birds, monkey and insects. We also have farm animals like cats, dogs and chicken. PLEASE NOTE: as you see on the photos the farm kitchen is open to the outside, and the cabin includes a high quality mosquito net but has some openings to the outside for air flow. We live in the wild nature of Ometepe. Please do not book if you are disturbed by insects existing around you. The farm is big and private, we have no direct neighbors - feel free to explore the 22 acres of land, our permaculture garden, or put a hammock the shade of a mango tree. There are also beautiful hikes directly accessible from the farm and we can connect you with a local trusted guide. We will be here during your stay - in our own house so that we can support you and answer any questions. Guest access We can reserve a trusted 4x4 taxi for you from the ferry to our farm, please contact us in advance if you would like to use this service. We are on a dirt road accessible from the main paved road between Santa Cruz and Merida - before El Caiman. CAREFUL: Do not try to find us on Google Maps, we are not there and you will get lost, trust these instructions. We promise you will arrive You can arrive either with the local bus which passes several times a day from Santa Cruz towards Merida, or with a 4x4 vehicle or moto. PLEASE NOTE: The dirt road is bumpy and muddy in rainy season (June to December) so a city car is really not recommended - especially then. DIRECTIONS: Between Santa Cruz and Merida (before Playa Caiman) you will see a big painted White Rock shaped like a chair on your left at the entrance of a dirt road. If you see Playa Caiman on your left you have gone too far. Stop at "Piedra Blanca" / The White Rock (the big painted White Rock shaped like a chair). If arriving by bus, you will have to ask the driver to stop at Piedra Blanca. The White Rock is at the entrance of the dirt road – take this road up. From the big painted White Rock we are 1.1 kilometer uphill, you will pass 3 houses, at the end of the road you will see a sign "Inanitah" - do not go that way, instead take a stone-paved road which goes up to the left. Once you are on that stone paved road up you are on our farm! You are here! Right at the top of the stone-paved hill on the left is your cabin. If you go further into the property you will find a brick building next to a greenhouse which is the farm kitchen at your disposal during your stay. If you continue and find our big wooden and white house you have gone too far and arrived at my house :) PLEASE NOTE We don’t recommend arriving after nightfall, since Ometepe is pretty off-grid and the dirt road isn’t lit, and the cabin is much easier to find during the day. We also strongly recommend having a headlamp or a pocket lamp with you (not just your phone light) as the cabin has no electricity (we provide candles). The farm kitchen does have electricity. If you arrive late and we are here we will help you. But if we are not there it could be a little tricky to find in the dark if you are not used to living off-grid. If you arrive by night and we are sleeping we will not be able to help you find the cabin. It is a good idea to come with a 4x4 vehicle or motorbike so you can be independent on the island, or to have everything you need with you, but we are also happy to teach you the way to walk to town. Other things to note The farm has electricity but the cabin doesn’t. We provide candles but please have a flashlight. Please do not arrive by night unless you are confident you can find your way in wild Nature without city lights. Please do not book if you do not want to share the farm (and sometimes your space) with insects. You might hear monkeys, cows, horses, dogs, cats, birds at night. There might be a spider or a wasp in your cabin or the kitchen. The cabin has a very high quality mosquito net so you can sleep protected! None of these creatures are dangerous but only book if you are okay with their presence People who enjoy this type of lifestyle love their stay here, we are passionate about natural living and grow all our food! But please if this is not you book another place :-)
