Set in the quintessential rural town of Charlotte, VT, known for its rolling hills and beautiful scenery, “The Barn” will not disappoint. There’s a reason Vermont is such a desirable destination. The beauty here, any time of year is unyielding. The barn is the perfect welcoming place to come home to after exploring it all. The space This immaculate and incredibly quiet studio apartment is a wonderful home away from home. Set in the scenic VT countryside, with it's beautiful wood beams and warm lighting it is the perfect romantic getaway! With 200 acres of conservation land and miles of nearby walking trails this 850 sq ft hideaway is the ideal weekend or weeklong retreat. Get the quiet and beauty of rural Vermont just minutes from Lake Champlain. Go for a stroll or jog right out your door in our peaceful surroundings. And yet, internationally known Shelburne Farms is just 10 minutes away. Burlington, VT is a convenient 18 minute drive. Fine dining, a walk along the Burlington bike path and Burlington's famous Church Street marketplace are easily at your fingertips by day or night. Sugarbush, Stowe or Bolton Valley ski resorts are all within 1 hours drive. The apartment has it's own separate entrance hallway with accompanying closet with more than adequate space for those winter coats, skis or bikes. You will be the only people in the building during your stay. The apartment functions as a spacious studio with a galley kitchen along the northern wall and a combined living room/bedroom space. There is a landing across the washing machine and dryer area that offers a dedicated desk space to work if needed. The apartment inhabits the 2nd floor of a "barn" which was never used as an actual barn - just made to look like one. The first floor contains a wood shop which does not get used during your stay. There is a half bathroom located on the first floor as an extra backup bathroom. This is in addition to the full bathroom with standing shower located in the apartment. As your hosts we’ll be happy to offer you recommendations and ideas about places to go, restaurants to frequent, things to do, nature activities and any other questions you have about the area. The neighborhood is fairly typical rural Vermont which means it's on a dirt road, plowed in the winter. There are several nearby walking trails leading to brooks and rivers, good for hiking or snowshoeing or cross country skiing in the winter. You will need your own mode of transportation. We are 10 miles south of Burlington, VT and there is no public transportation out here. During the winter an all wheel drive vehicle is recommended, although not essential. The unit is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, 4 burner cooking range with oven, instant hot water maker, Keurig with tea, coffee and hot chocolate, dishwasher, laundry, and internet. No cable but possibly access to Netflix and Amazon Prime through Chromecast with remote. The “Barn” is a perfect place to just get away from it all - quiet, relaxing… total tranquility. Guest access Separate entrance access through the entry door to the left of the garage door. Access is for the apartment only, not the wood shop. Other things to note We have gone to extraordinary lengths to keep this unit fragrance and smoke free. Annie is very sensitive to both and so we insist no smoking anywhere on the property inside or outside the unit. No exceptions. As for fragrance, if guests wear perfume or cologne please, please, please consider forgoing wearing it during your stay. Certainly don’t apply it to yourself inside the unit. We know this is a special ask but for our health and for others we ask that you honor this request. Thank you for understanding.
