Welcome! This is not a fake house set up for tourists — it’s my real home, lived in and loved, where I usually reside. You’ll find my belongings around, but I’ll make sure there’s space for yours too. I bought and renovated this home three years ago. Here in Florence, due to the high cost of rent, many people are forced to leave. I prefer to share my home on Airbnb for short periods to help pay the mortgage and stay part of the community, keeping the authenticity of the city alive. The space Welcome to Casa Mia, a small 45-square-meter apartment located on the first floor of a historic twentieth-century building, with 3.5-meter-high ceilings and large windows. As soon as you step inside, you'll find yourself in an entrance area, where you can hang your coats on a wardrobe to store your belongings. Continuing on, you'll discover a cozy and bright living space, furnished with a sofa bed, a table with four chairs, an armchair, and a fully equipped kitchen. There's also a large refrigerator – feel free to use anything you find in it – and of course, there are pots, dishes, cutlery, and glasses. Oh, and yes, there's no microwave, but that's just because it didn't fit aesthetically. The bedroom, although small, features a spacious bed with an excellent mattress, specially chosen for someone like me who is two meters tall. The bathroom is very spacious with a shower (and a Hollywood-style mirror that can be unforgiving in the morning). I hope you'll feel welcomed and comfortable during your stay here. It's not a perfect home; there are many things I still want to fix, but it's my little corner of happiness in a changing Florence. At a time when fewer and fewer people can afford to live in Florence due to absurd prices, more and more owners prefer to turn their homes into businesses and empty the city. I've decided to stay to keep my roots here. That's why I prefer to share it on Airbnb for short periods.
