Description
A family-run guesthouse in the milder weather of La Paz city’s wealthier southern district. The creation of architect Lindsay Tellez, who has created a prototype for sustainable living in Bolivia that provides a comfortable and cosy place to stay. The house features a unique vertical greenhouse and water conservation system based on the natural filtration of totora reeds from nearby Lake Titicaca. Small workshops can be arranged on request to learn more about this pioneering form of agriculture. The space It has 4 areas, the kitchen/dinner fully equipped for those who want to cook their own meals. Each room has its own private bathroom. The house offers seven comfortable en-suite double rooms and one self-contained flat with its own kitchenette. You are booking the 3 rooms in the first level of the house. Each room has a workspace with a small desk. The shared areas of the house include: kitchen/breakfast room with adjoining laundry area, roof terrace, reading nook, and a dining area with views of our vertical farm. (These are at ground level) The house also has a large living room and dining area that can be used by guests if no workshops or functions are taking place. Adjoining the house is the Bolivian Box cafe, which is open to the public Monday-Saturday 8am-7pm. The cafe offers organically-produced vegetarian snacks, locally-grown coffee and fresh juices. Guest access You will be able to access the roof terrace, the vertical farm, cafe, kitchen, launge and garden. Please note that depending on the time of year you may have to follow some extra rules in order to keep our urban farm working. Other things to note The water used in the showers and sink go through a recycling process which enables the farm to re-use it. i.e. cleaning the floors
