Description

A beautifully renovated old Cotswold stone apple barn, Shamba Barn is nestled in an acre of lovely landscaped gardens belonging to Bond End Farm; a Grade II listed 400-year-old Timber Frame house where it's rumoured Henry VIII once stayed! Escape for a peaceful break to explore the Cotswolds and exclusively enjoy the beautiful garden with visiting deer and pheasants, orchard and tree swing, and cosy indoor fire-side evenings or beautiful sunsets on your private patio with a warming fire pit. The space Shamba Barn has been lovingly restored (retaining many original features) from an abandoned old barn to provide a delightful one kingsize bedroom holiday cottage; fitted and furnished to a luxury standard. It is a wonderful space created with the ethos of providing a place for rest, restoration, adventure, fun and games, good conversation, creative inspiration and simply enjoying your companion’s company. It combines old character features with modern conveniences: full central heating, lovely roll top bath, separate shower, wood burner, fully equipped kitchen with wine fridge, dishwasher etc. Please see the Guest Access section for full details. Shamba Barn is perfect for all seasons, with the gardens bursting with a large variety of plants and bird-life, often visited by deer, pheasant and rabbits. The large private patio, equipped with fire pit, is fragranced by scented roses in the summer and is a warm sun-trap, perfect for watching colourful sunsets. In winter, light the fire and settle in for games, quiet reading or relaxing in the roll top bath. Guest access The barn's features include: - Open plan living room/kitchen wood-burning stove. - Mezzanine bedroom in the eaves with a King Size reclaimed solid wood bed and lovely views across the garden. Cosy up for a movie night in bed, with the television in the bedroom. - Delightful bathroom with roll top bath, bowl basin & separate shower with lighted shelving. Enjoy the beautiful aspect across the garden during your morning shower or just gaze at the stars while relaxing in the bath. - Fully equipped kitchen with holiday essentials including dishwasher, gas hob and electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, integrated wine rack and wine fridge. - Private large outdoor patio with fire pit. - Use of the secluded acre of garden and orchard (plenty of fruits throughout the season for picking and eating!) - Dedicated off-road parking Other things to note There are friendly dogs that live in the main house and share the garden, they may just pop in to say hello! Please bare this in mind if you are planning on bringing a dog that does not mix well, we will try our best to help where we can but this is our dogs home :) **PLEASE NOTE** Shamba Barn has been run by Shelly and Julie for some years and Shelly is now taking over as our guests’ key point of contact, which had led to us creating a new listing of Shamba barn, with Shelly as the host. You can see some of Shamba Barn’s recent reviews in the photo gallery.
