The space A STAY FOR ALL SEASONS: Escape to a beautifully restored 1860s Vermont farmhouse retreat that artfully blends historic charm with modern comforts. This two-bedroom, 2 ½ - bath gem offers the best of Vermont country living with the convenience of a historic village just walking distance away. Right out the front door you’ll find the scenic and dog-friendly 280 acre Mile-Around Woods Nature Preserve. Come soak up the winter magic of Southern Vermont. Wake to snow-dusted fields and that quiet mountain hush, then head to Bromley Mountain for a full day of skiing and riding—easygoing for beginners, plenty of fun for confident cruisers, and scenic enough that even a few laps feels like a getaway. Prefer a slower pace? Skip the chairlifts and lean into the quiet—take a snowy walk through the Mile Around Preserve just across the street, or head to Prospect for cross-country skiing. Wander through evergreen corridors, follow gentle trails, and move at your own speed—winter here is as much about stillness as it is adventure. Back at the farmhouse, warm up the Vermont way. Gather around the fire pit for a quick burst of fresh air and stargazing, or tuck inside with a steaming mug of hot chocolate while the snow falls outside. The Vermont Farmhouse 2 Queen Bedrooms + 2.5 Bathrooms 1700sqft BEDROOMS Bedroom 1: Downstairs - Private Queen Bedroom and Large Ensuite Bathroom with Walk-In Shower Bedroom 2: Upstairs - Private Queen Bedroom and Large Ensuite Bathroom. Walk-In Shower. (Available twin size fold-out couch in the bedroom.) TOTAL GUESTS The house has 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds and comfortably sleeps 4 people. We are open to hosting one additional guest on the twin size fold down futon in the upstairs bedroom, but please get in touch with us prior to booking to discuss if this is a good fit for your group. $50 fee applies. Maximum 5 Guests Overnight. KITCHEN The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and all the necessary cooking and serving tools for creating beautiful and delicious meals. There is an electric range top and full size oven for all your home chef desires. 4K TV, WIFI & VINTAGE RECORD PLAYER The house is outfitted with rocket fast reliable Wifi and a Smart 4K TV (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, etc. streaming for your devices). Connect to the Marshall Bluetooth Speaker for all your favorite tunes or put on a vintage record while sipping wine on the porch. PORCH, FIRE PIT, CHARCOAL GRILL The front of the home has an expansive deck perfect for outdoor dining, or relaxing with a good book. The yard has a fire pit with complimentary wood and seating with beautiful country views. We also have a vintage "park style" charcoal grill w/ complimentary clean burn charcoal for grilling up your favorite locally raised cuts of meat & vegetables. DOG FRIENDLY We accept two dogs under 75 pounds for an additional fee of $50/per stay. Southern Vermont is very dog friendly. Just across the country road from the house is the Mile Around Woods Trail (1.3 Miles) as well as an off leash field where pups can roam free off leash! LOCATION NEIGHBORHOOD - The house is located on a quiet country road, under a mile from the village of North Bennington, and just steps from The Mile Around Woods Trail and historic Park McCullough Estate. Year round, wake up to the sun rising over the unspoiled hills of neighboring farms before taking a stroll down tree lined streets to the heart of the village. Here you can enjoy regionally brewed coffees at our village bakery, fresh Vermont produce, meats and cheeses from our general store and delicious seasonal offerings from local restaurants. Prospect Coffeehouse, Pangea Restaurant, & Powers Market are all under a mile from the Farmhouse. The house is also just a short drive, or bike ride, to three historic covered bridges. Other things to note As the seasons change in Southern Vermont, so do the wealth of activities to share! OUTDOORS - SEASONAL ACTIVITIES SPRING & SUMMER Spend afternoons reconnecting with nature on the Mile Around Woods trail located just steps from your front door or explore Southern Vermont’s one of a kind landscape on horseback guided by local equestrians. Meander down the Battenkill River by canoe or kayak, swim at Lake Paran located just outside the village, or take a lesson in trout fishing with local pros. FALL Known for its Fall foliage, Vermont truly does not disappoint when it comes to the beauty of nature in autumn. Enjoy hikes through some of New England’s most beloved state conservancies, and roast marshmallows in the evening around The Farmhouse fire pit. WINTER And in the winter, enjoy nordic skiing and snowshoeing at Prospect (20 minutes), downhill skiing at Bromley (35 minutes) and Stratton (45 minutes), Magic Mountain (48 min) Okemo (1 hr) and tubing and skiing at Willard (30 minutes).
