Jurassic Coast Cottage

Nestled just inside the stunning Isle of Purbeck, Pound Cottage sits at the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, home to England's only natural World Heritage site. You'll be 15 minute walk via a breathtaking causeway to the Saxon-walled market town of Wareham, or a four minute stroll to the local thatched-roof pub. The iconic Durdle Door is near your doorstep: 18 min drive. Recently renovated with a cosy yet contemporary feel, you'll enjoy a comfortable base for adventures and relaxation alike. The space A former riding school stables and once home to horses, the converted cottage has been delighting Dorset explorers for decades. Whether you want to find fossils, spot birds or feel the sand between your toes, the cottage offers a tranquil base to experience Dorset. As you enter through the stable door and turn right you'll find the double bedroom on the ground floor. The bathroom is directly in front of you complete with a shower to rinse away the saltwater, alongside a cupboard with a washing machine for those of you on longer escapes. To the left is the open plan, high-ceiling living space, with a contemporary kitchen, induction hob, fridge freezer and everything you need to cook up a feast from home. After dinner, relax in front of the TV or practice your piano forte on a white electric Yamaha. The mezzanine boasts two single beds and a desk for finally writing that novel or remote working. Please note, as this space is accessed via a steep staircase it is only suitable for more agile adults and active children. Alternatively, there is a 300-pocket sprung sofa bed option (single or double) if you'd prefer to sleep downstairs. Guest access Check-in is typically after 4pm. Flexible check-in may be available depending on other bookings, cleaner availability and my whereabouts. Just ask :)
