This apartment is all about two things: convenient city location, and hyper-modern living. Itä-Pasila is connected to Pasila station, a main transport hub of Helsinki. A train to Helsinki central station takes 5 minutes, or go direct to the airport in 25 minutes. The building is listed as a tourist attraction for its iconic Brutalist architecture and history as a communications site and TV/film shooting location. The interior is fully refurbished with smart home fittings. The space The apartment has been completely refurbished with high-quality fittings, recognising the architect's original vision. As you enter you see polished concrete walls, a suspended beam ceiling and handmade Italian glass tiles. The bright yellow doors are classic of the Brutalist era, and these have been specially soundproofed. The entrance hall is open to the kitchen, which is compact but contains all the conveniences: a built-in washer-dryer, a dishwasher, a fridge with freezer compartment, a toaster, an oven/grill and a 2-hob induction cooker. You will also find a bean-to-cup Sage espresso machine, hot water kettle and soda water maker. The kitchen leads to a small balcony with glazing. Through to the spacious living room there is comfortable seating for 4 people on a sofa and leather chairs, a dedicated dining area with room for 4, and a workspace with HAG ergonomic chair and height-adjustable desk. The desk also houses a Roland FP-10 electric piano, which slides in and out of view. The living room has smart lighting that brightens and dims automatically as you move around the room. It also has an electric blind to keep out that mudsummer sun! The living room sofa is a bit special: with one easy pull it converts into a bunkbed with two single adult-sized beds with comfortable mattresses. It is substantial, sturdy and secure, normally only available to the hotel industry. NOTE: Although standard adult size, the beds are enclosed - great for safety but not for people over 6 foot / 180cm! The master bedroom is a simple, quiet room with views across the city to the East (and blackout curtains for those early midsummer mornings!). It has a 180cm-wide bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress topper. Finally, the bathroom features heated flooring, a ring light mirror, a Swiss-made Japanese style toilet with integrated bidet, and an exceptional shower: it has three different heads which can all be used simultaneously: rainfall, narrow stream and handheld. All have adjustable pressure (which goes up very high) and are super simple to operate with one button each. Body soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Guest access The entire apartment is at the guests' disposal. It is ordinarily a home so you will find some of the owners' private possessions neatly stored in the apartment. Other things to note Check-in must be before 9pm at night - entry is dependent on using a door code, which is automatically disabled over night. Once you have checked in, you can use the key to enter 24-hours, but your first arrival must be during daytime hours.
